I followed the man down the hallway, my body aching with each step. The sound of my bare feet against the cold floor echoed in the silence. My heart pounded in my chest, my mind racing with fear over what Theo wanted. When we reached the door, the man knocked once before opening it and stepping aside. I hesitated for a moment, then entered the room. Theo was sitting at his desk, his chair leaning back, a cigarette between his fingers. He took a long drag, exhaling the smoke slowly, his eyes never leaving me as I stood in the doorway. “Well, well,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “You look better than before.
