The drive to the hotel was quiet, aside from Mrs. Rodríguez occasionally glancing at me as if making sure I was still holding it together. Hailey, on the other hand, stayed silent, her arms crossed as she stared out the window. When we finally pulled up to the Marbella Suites, I felt an odd sense of relief.
