“They won’t stop calling me, but I’m not ready to deal with them. I just want to get this paternity test over with.” I groaned inwardly as I complained to Jamie while we drove to the hospital.
Before she could say anything, I continued. “And don’t you dare answer their calls. I’ll kill you if they want to speak to me through your phone.” I warned my sister so she wouldn’t put me in an uncomfortable position.
Jamie lifted her hands in mock surrender. “Fine, I won’t answer my parents’ call even though I miss them and want to speak to them.”
I laughed. “Don’t make me seize your phone.”
