“Are you out of your mind?” Olivia exclaimed when I told her about my plans to visit New York.
I shook my head even though she couldn’t see me. “I wish I was kidding.”
“So you want to return to New York after so many years just for revenge?” She asked, her voice laced with disbelief.
I nodded my head as I took a piece of crackers that my assistant had left on my desk. “Exactly! You get my point.”
When I moved to Japan, I cut all contact with everyone from my past, except Olivia. Olivia and I were still good friends even with the distance between us.
I never visited New York but we still saw each other at least twice a year. She was the only person I could trust. She was practically like a sister to me.
