Chapter 101 Layla Patel ~•~ As I opened my eyes, I found myself in an unfamiliar room. It didn’t take long before I realized that I was in a hospital room. The sharp clinical scent of antiseptic hit my nose. Confusion gripped me at first, followed by a suffocating grief. Everything started coming back to me. I passed out from shock. Hana was dead. My mother was gone forever. Tears welled in my eyes before I could stop them. Why did she have to die? I thought she was getting better. She looked healthy. But I was wrong. My whole world shattered before my eyes. “Hey, you are awake, " a nurse said softly as she walked through the door. I wiped off my tears with the back of my hand as she examined my body. Everything seems fine. I’ll tell your husband he can see you now.”
