“I’ve been wanting to talk to you about something for a while, but I haven’t gotten the chance.” My assistant couldn’t maintain eye contact with me as she spoke.
My interest was piqued.
If I could recall, she had tried talking to me, but there was always a distraction. But now, I was curious to listen to what she had to say.
“I’m sorry about that, you can talk to me now.” I apologized, my voice gentle. “I hope everything is okay and you’re not about to quit.”
Like I mentioned before, I couldn’t start finding another assistant from scratch. That would be a whole lot of work, and I wasn’t ready to go through something like that.
