I heard dry clothes but I didn't want to leave her.

"Yea" I say and give Mia a look.

"Malik so mister does have a name" Mira says handing my a towel she notices the rose tattoo with the M on top.

She realized Mia had the same one. She smiled. Henry stood there like a blank page waiting for me to leave. I grabbed the towel and realized Mia need her. They set this up with code words 4 years agon just in case something happened. I know she'll be in good hands. I left the bathroom and shut the door.

"Malik you ok"

I get into the dresser and realize we haven't changed the sheets. Our blood was still there. My baby girl really was put through the ringer. How the does he still hold power over her. Well I guess Kaity won't be around anymore. That woman really found out what it meant to cross Beau. Now she's in our bathroom talking to her friend while I'm stuck out here waiting. This time I don't listen because I know she needs that time to herself and her friend.

"Henry when did you realize she started having panic attacks" I say as i feel my wrath growing.

"Right after she left Beau"

"Damn him" that's when Beau noticed my anger. He went to sit on the bed and then noticed what I did.

"Malik what are you two into"

That broke my train of thoughts.

"Sorry we were going to change the sheets"

"Dude they looked they need burnt"

"She likes it very rough" I say turning on the dimly lit lamp on the bed side table.

"Holy s**t rough doesn't begin to cover it" he noticed the bites and the marks on my back.

"Henry for the first I saw how scared got" I tried to remain calm until a knock happened on the door.

Henry and I slowly stood up. The tv was at a low because of her daughter sleeping. So who it wasn't going hear it. Henry opened the bathroom door a crack and said another code word before quietly closing the door and silently moving with me. With the door being a little bit a ways from the rooms and it being dark who ever it was at the door couldn't see our shadows.

This time whoever it was starting pound on the door.

"Mia open the damn door" he was here and he made a big mistake by coming here.

"Go back into the bedroom and call the police" I said to Henry. He silently went back down the and closed the door.

"Mia you b***h open this door" he banged again.

I silently crept up to the peep hole and looked out. He was covered in blood and held a knife. Kaity and her mom were murdered because of him. I heard him try and jiggle the door knob. He starting banging on the door again this time it rang out through the apartment. If I open that door before the police get here there's no telling what I'll do. I felt Henry slowly coming down the hall the police have to be close.

"Mia please I'm sorry" he's f*****g crazy. This fuckhead thinks she's going to take him back.

"Get away from the door" thank god it's the cops.

"Drop your weapon"

"He said drop your weapon" I heard the knife hit the floor.

"Kick it over" the knife slide.

"Get down on your knees with your hands behind your head"

I heard the cuffs click into place and so did he.

"Go tell Mia the cops are here"

He ran back down the hall.

"Holy s**t" I hear him say. Then the knock on the door came.

"Hello can I help you officer" I say opening the door.

He looked stunned to see me.

"We're looking for Mia Ravens" he says

"Yes she's coming down the hall now"

"Thank you"

Her hair is still wet and she only has on one of my shirts that's big enough to tell that she didn't need shorts.

"Hi I'm Mia officer" I noticed she shaking and I held her.

"Mia is this your boyfriend"

"Yes officer"

"Would you like to tell me Beau Roys was here at your apartment"

"He's my ex from four years ago"

"Mia" the one officer said

"Yes"

"He's the one that beat you and left you. How's he find you"

"He found out about his daughter recently"

"Mia sweetheart he's going away for a long time"

"Thank you officer"

"Anything else I'm kind of tired"

"No you guys have a good night" with that I closed the door and Mia fell to the floor.

Chapter 18

Mia

I hit the floor and my breathing became shaky again. I have to call my mom. I get up slowly and walk over to my phone. I dial my mom's number. Please answer please mom.

"Mia sweetie are you ok"

"Mom" I choked out through a sob

"He didn't hurt did he"

"No mommy" I sobbed again and she fell silent.

"Baby he's gone the cops got him right?"

"Yes" I tried so hard to hold myself together.

"Put Henry on now" I knew that tone meant business.

I walked over and handed my phone to Henry like when were teenagers. After we got caught doing something.

"Hello Ms.R"

"Henry you listen to me and you listen good. Take care of her and thank you for always being there for her"

"Will do" and then he hung up.

I fell onto the couch and I heard Mira giggling. We all looked at her like she was crazy. She continued to giggle.

"Mia"

"Yes Mira you crazy b***h"

The guys looked like they needed more context.

I grabbed Maliks' arm with the rose tattoo on it.

"Mia you didn't"

"But you did" she says

"See but you did even though you say you didn't" we both giggle and the guys looked confused. Our tweedled d and tweedled dumb act always did that.

Then Henry started laughing because he knew what was on.

"I'm so lost what does this have to do with a tattoo" Malik asked.

"When Mia thought she would meet her one she would get a tattoo with them with the first letter of his name. I noticed it right away"

"Mia why would you tell me something different" Henry pretending to be angry and Mira shoved him playfully.

"Who's hungry. We still enough to eat" Malik says.

"I think I need to go to sleep" I say holding my out to Mira. Malik looked hurt a little.

"She'll be ok she just her friend right now" Henry says and we leave the guys int he living room.

I shut the door and throw myself on the bed. Mira sees what happened.

"So mister give me one those really likes what you're into huh" she says laying down beside me.

"Yes" she wiggles her eyebrows at me.

"Mia"

"Yes"

"You ok"

"I thought I was next. And then she wouldn't have me anymore. Everything leading up to before she got here played"

"Look here. She's ok and so are you. Now tell me about this what I'm thinking is blood and not fake"

I cover my face wit my blanket.

"It's more Maliks then mine"

"I heard him say you like rough but don't you think this is over kill"

"Yes" I say through the blanket

God I missed being around her. She truly is like the sister I never had.

We could hear the laughter from down the hall. I smiled knowing she had these two.

"Do you think they're talking about s*x"

"Henry the giant stain on our bed is kind of hard not to notice"

"Mia was always a freak, Beau never let do much" his face fell.

"Henry I want you to know that I'm going to take very good care of her. She's the love of life and someday if she says yes I want to marry her"

I chuckled. We'd have to pass honor day first. Which seems like it was slowly creeping up.

"Sure"

"Yes I knew it. I knew you'd come around"

The laughter stopped.

"I think they finally went to bed" I say getting up and putting the food away.

"Me too. What are you doing with that food"

"Mia likes when it's reheated"

"Thank you" he says.

I stop what doing.

"For what"

"Mia loves you and you treat her right" he says laying down on the other couch. He fell asleep and I went to check on the girls.

I slowly opened the door and they were sleeping. Smiled closing the door. I walked back down the hall stopping at the closet to grab two blankets. Walked into the Livingroom cover Henry up and went to sleep. We woke up to hushed voices and giggles coming from the kitchen.

"Shhh don't wake them up" Mira said trying to be quiet.

Then noticed the wine was missing. They're drunk at 8 in the morning making food. It smelt amazing. For two drunk women at this hour in the morning.

"Hey you're awake" Mia says holding up her glass.

"Kind of hard to sleep now with you two giggle boxes right there trying and failing to be quiet" Henry says.

"I think they're drunk"

"No Malik they're tipsy" he chuckled

"Well we might as well get up" I say.

"Yup"

"Smells amazing baby" I say kissing the top of her head.

"Love" she sighs. I noticed Henry was already at the table. He looks beat.

"Mia do you have anymore wine" she asked

She looks at me and smirked.

"Mira check the cabinet by the glasses"

Mira opened it and it was stocked full. Mira laughed.

"Malik one thing you need to know about Mia she's always fully stocked on wine" he chuckled

"Why do you have so much wine" I asked her.

"It was a to go to when I didn't know what to do" she turned away from everyone.

I could see the hurt she was still carrying. This is going to take years of damage control and the help of those two. Her phone started to ring and we all jumped. She looked surprised.

"Mama" her daughter was on video chat.

"Hi sweetie" she smiled

"Are you ok. Gram Gram was upset last night and when I asked she wouldn't tell me"

"Sweetie mommy is fine. Look uncle Henry is here" her face lit up.

"Uncle Henry, Uncle Henry. Talk to me in the other room" oh dear she's to young.

"Uh sweet girl we're about to eat maybe later"

"Ok I understand" she looked at him with big eyes that said this isn't over.

"Well sweetie we'll all talk to you later" she shows everyone there and we wave good bye.

"Baby are you ok" I could see how that made her seem happy. Her face lit up a little bit.

"Me. I'm fine" we all gave each other a look.

"Wanna get something with today like we planned before. We could go shopping today. What do you say guys. You guys could hang a little and we could have a sort of day out of it" Mira says.

Why is it shopping is what she always needs. She truly loves shopping.

"We could do that today. That sounds like a really good idea Mira" I say handing Mia my card. She lit up.

"Love are you serious" the other two doesn't know that I have money.

"Baby I'm sure" I say sitting down all the plates of food in front of everyone. I sat down beside her and we all ate breakfast. I feel like today is going to be a long day.

They go to the bed room to get dressed and I go into the bathroom down the hall after grabbing my clothes.

Laughter filled the apartment again. It was nice.

"Ready" they giggled. Henry and I looked at each other.

We all left the apartment. She really needed this. They went into shop after shop. Each time giggling about something. Then they disappeared. So Henry and I had lunch at the diner. They came in with a bunch of bags and sat down.
