A few hours ago, while Mila was in the middle of work, a blonde lady who was dressed in the same uniform as the workers of the bar approached Mila with a glass cup filled with a drink.
"This is for you," the blonde lady had said and she immediately left after handing the cup of drink to Mila and Mila who thought nothing of this just drank the drink which she figured was alcohol in one gulp and just continued with work.
However, a few minutes later, Mila began feeling weird and restless but she ignored the feeling thinking it was one of those tired days at work.
But then, when she couldn't take any more of it, she decided to head to the bathroom for a quick break because a break was all she thought she needed.
Before she could even reach the bathroom, a random man out of nowhere grabbed her by her arm and dragged her out of the bar through the back door where a Bentley car was parked.
Out of shock, she gasped with her eyes wide, "Who are you? Leave me now!" She cried out with fear written all over her face. But her cries were ignored and the idea of screaming for help struck her mind but before she got the chance to, the man used his hand to forcefully cover her mouth, stopping her from screaming for help.
Her struggles to get out of the man's grip were futile and she was soon thrown into the back seat of the car and even in her terrible state, Mila noticed the man seated beside her inside the car.
The man said nothing to her, he didn't even look in her direction and Mila too decided to ignore him and concentrated on how to get out of this car because it seemed she was being kidnapped.
However, no matter how hard she tried to unlock the door to get out of how much she screamed for help, it turned out useless because the car door was locked and no one could hear her from outside.
And she couldn't recall what happened afterwards because it seemed she had passed out from whatever was placed in the alcohol.
...
As these memories flooded her head, Mila quickly grabbed onto the arm of the blonde lady, stopping her from moving any further.
"Is there something you need?" The blonde lady asked, feigning innocence as she stared at the confused eyes of Mila. But Mila didn't respond immediately, she was in fact finding it difficult to understand anything.
And as seconds ticked by, the air between Mila and the blonde lady turned awkward and suffocating and the blonde lady who seemed oblivious soon stared down at Mila with a piercing gaze.
"What is the meaning of this?" The blonde lady asked as she looked down at Mila's fingers wrapped tightly around her arm and then stared back at Mila with a questioning gaze.
"Why did you give me that drink yesterday?" Mila asked, her voice low and faded for heaven knows why.
"And what's wrong with that? Aren't we colleagues? We should be kind to each other, right?" Nessa, the blonde lady asked.
"But... did you put something in that drink? What did you put in that drink?" Mila asked as her hands shook from the anger bubbling up inside her. As much as she didn't want to believe it, it could be that her colleague had set her up to be raped by a stranger.
Hearing Mila's questions, Nessa's eyes flared up and she forcefully yanked her arm out of Mila's tight grip, causing Mila to lean forward due to the force but she soon regained her balance and stared at Nessa who was now standing directly before Mila.
"You really are something," Nessa said with her index finger pointing at Mila, almost poking at her eyes. "All I'm trying to do is be nice to you. It's one thing to hate me but it's another to accuse me of nonsense." Nessa said and left right after, leaving Mila standing alone all angry and confused.
After a few minutes of just standing there in a tranced state, Mila finally decided to leave as standing there would do nothing.
Even though she had a lot of unanswered questions, she soon realized it would be best to just let go and move on. The deed had already been done and there was nothing she could do about it.
Hopefully, tonight's event will be a bygone and forgotten.
Picking up her bags, she left the bar and quickly headed home which was another place of hell she wished she could dodge, but she had nowhere else to go except there.
Mila lived with her stepmother and stepbrother on the outskirts of the city, their house was a small one which used to belong to her father before he died.
Reaching the house, she stepped in and entered the living room and thankfully, no one was there and in hurried steps, she walked to her bedroom and locked the door immediately after she entered.
With a deep sigh, Mila slowly slumped to the floor with her back pressed on the door.
The events that had taken place in the past few hours still played relentlessly in her head and knowing what she had done, Mila had the sudden urge to cry.
She couldn't understand why it happened to her. Was it a planned setup or just a mere coincidence? She couldn't tell as everything just seemed confusing. However, the best thing to do was to move on and try to forget about it which she was aware would be difficult.
Getting up from the floor, she quickly took off her shoes and stripped out of her uniform till she was only left with nothing but her birth suit. She stepped into her bathroom and stood before the huge mirror and was welcomed with a horrifying sight.
Her body was covered in bruises from last night, from her neck down to her stomach was filled with purple bruises. Even the bruises she had sustained from her stepmother's beatings weren't as crazy as this one.
BAM! BAM!
A loud bang coming from her room's door interrupted Mila's thought and she flinched due to how loud it was.
"Come out here you ugly raccoon! You have some nerve to try to play smart, huh?" A voice roared from outside her bedroom and Mila sig
hed softly because she knew who it was, her stepmother, Danielle.
