Chapter 14 They were almost late, which to Harper meant they were right on time. The upcoming Sunday brunch left both men feeling a little crazy. Lucas paced around the kitchen, jumpy from the pressure of his first official Ellison family function. “Get in the car, Harper. Meg and Joe left half an hour ago,” Lucas bellowed from the backdoor. “Hold on, I gotta grab my guitar. I promised Ben.” Lucas scampered into the sunroom to grab it. Harper stepped into the kitchen, put the guitar down, and sat in a kitchen chair to slide his top-siders on his feet. “You’re stalling. Let’s go. It’s my first Ellison command performance.
