Chapter 12
Harper awoke late the next morning, listening to one side of a telephone conversation Lucas was having in the hallway with his admin, Beverly.
“Everything’s fine, Bev. I just need a few days to take care of some personal business. I’ll be in Monday. I’m available on my cell, if there’s anything you can’t handle on your own. Allen said he’d cover if there’s a crisis. I’ll call you tomorrow.” Lucas hung up the phone and slipped back into the bedroom trying not to disturb Harper.
“I’m awake.” Harper stretched in bed and rubbed his red and puffy eyes. He admired the beautiful man standing next to the bed wearing nothing but royal blue boxer-briefs. “You don’t have to stay home with me. I’m okay. My brain sputtered a bit last night, but it’s better now.”
