Douglas stopped his car right in front of Scarlet’s family home. The ride back home was not one that neither of them enjoyed. The situation had worsened after Scarlet had left Douglas’s room; she had eaten her breakfast alone, Douglas refusing to take a bite out of anything. “We’re here” Douglas said, not looking at Scarlet. He knew he could not look at her face otherwise, he might resort to begging or worst not wanting to let go of her.
