The next day Scarlet was up earlier than she had ever been. She was in her car and on her way to the hospital. There was once a time that she would be stuck in traffic for hours at a time but now sitting in her car, waiting for the light to turn green got onto her nerves. Scarlet knew that she did not have time for all this waiting, her grandmother needed her more than ever and she would be there for her. Scarlet felt thankful that at east her aunt was there with her grandmother, watching over her and making sure that she was okay. The light finally turned green and Scarlet stepped onto the gas petal only for her car to swerve and slip on the ice, almost causing her to knock into the guard rails but thank goodness for her quick thinking that allowed her to press the breaks on time.
