Chapter Four teen
Zander's Point of view
I just sat there and listened to my best friend as he finally opened up to me. Suddenly the reasons for his mood all summer made sense. I just wish that he had told me before. Ok, I see why he wouldn't talk to Matt or Joe, but Me, I was his best friend. The only other person who came close to me was Josh, and, well-
'Zander?' I shook my head and focused back into the conversation at hand.
'Yeah man, Well, what are you going to do about it. When we get home, every thing changed anyway' He sighed sadly and looked back down at the ground, twisting his fingers together and lowered his head. 'I'm sorry dude, but to tell you the truth, every thing changed and, there nothing we can do about it because...' I stopped talking, our wounds were still very much open and it's still hard to talk about.
'I know what you mean Zee'. I nodded.
'Any way... Changing this subject, What are you going to do about it then?' He shrugged. 'Come on. You, of all people, don't know what to do about a girl. Now that's the funniest thing I've ever heard.' He flashed me the bird and started laughing and I joined in. 'So... You going to make your move on her?'
'I don't know man. I mean, We didn't exactly get along well when we met did we and the only reason why we do now is because we had to share a cabin and I saved her life...the first time.' Well, that was true.
'Well, you guys are friends on a completely different level to any one else your friends with. You guys were friends before you even met, which means, she didn't know what you looked like, who you were and did she like you.'
'Yeah, she did. But funny enough she hated me when she DID find out who I was.' I couldnt hold in my laughter. 'Two words Zacky, Up yours' I stuck my tongue out.
'So what are you going to do?' He shrugged. 'Gonna make a move on her just to see what she does?'
'Is that a good idea?' This time I shrugged.
'I don't know but when you know if she likes you or not. If she lets you do what ever then she does and you can try and work it all out from there if she puts up a fight, then she doesn't and you have to accept you are just friends.'
'But what about my promise to Michelle?'
'I don't know dude, but, When did you make that promise?'
'On our wedding day'
'So, back when you actually loved each other.' He nodded. 'But you have lost feelings for each other now, so, does it really count?'
'I guess not.'
'There you go, man. Good luck. ' He seemed to think about it for a few seconds before nodding to himself and stood up.
'Ok then, I'll catch you later man' I smiled and he walked away. I really things go well for them, but I guess that depends on what happens tonight, right?....
