Chapter 6

Zeke’s pov I looked at Jane holding Asyra in her lap as she ate, I went back to my own plate of ham. I was about to take a bite when I was tapped on the shoulder by Jane. I looked back at her and watched her sniff the air, I did the same. I threw my fork on my plate and watched as the other males in the room did the same. We walked out of the tent aware that we could be walking into a trap. I could hear people eating in the other tents and watched as more fled out of the tents at the mysterious scent. I linked Jane, “you and Asyra need to go to our room, take Luca and a few guards with you.” I closed the link off and kept making my way closer to the scent. We all followed it past the gardens and into the woods. I linked my men, “Stay close, stay alert. They may be trying to separate us.” I heard a yes alpha threw the bond, Ryken was next to me in his white wolf. We walked for nearly thirty minutes, something wasn't right. I looked up and noticed the twisted rock. It was a huge boulder that looked like it was layered then turned into a screw. We already walked past this, s**t! “Everyone stop! Make way back to the castle, this is a distraction!” Ryken jumped up and Sara wasn’t far behind him; they took off running back to the castle. I linked Jane but never got a response back. As I got closer to the castle I heard something weird, I looked up and was shocked to see a dragon flying over the grounds. I watched as it landed on the balcony of our room. I growled and Zane picked up our pace, I looked forward to racing towards the castle when I saw Zac. “Dad, what should I do? I thought dragons were all extinct.” He asked through the link. “Get to your mother, she is going to need help.” I told him. As I ran to the door I realized there wasn’t anyone being attacked here, this is strictly a snatch and go mission. “Everyone to the Queen and Princess, NOW!” I bellowed through my warriors link, I noticed all of my warriors running towards the stairs. I jumped up them ten at a time, when I made it to the corridor with our room I could see all the guards on the ground. I jumped and landed directly in front of the door I rammed into it and it opened easily. I looked around and fear gripped my heart. Jane was motionless face down on the ground, bleeding like crazy. Luca was curled on the floor next to her crying, and Asyra was nowhere to be seen. Jane’s pov “How right you are, my dear.” He snarled at me, I watched him take a step forward and I put up my shield and formed a fireball in my hand. He chuckled, “Silly woman, did you really think I would be frightened by some fire? I am a dragon, I am made of fire.” He said, amused. “Chastity, what do I do? Fire won’t affect him, wind won’t either.” I called to her. “Vines! Surround him with vines!” I reached with my mind and vines shot from my fingertips. He looked stunned at first, I encased his whole body in vines yanking them as hard as they could go. I began making one wrap up to his throat when he laughed. “Oh you puny wolf, stop making me laugh. My ribs are starting to hurt.” I looked at him in surprise as his eyes glowed with fire and all the vines were burned off of him. I brought water up and surrounded him in it. He just smiled and I knew this would not end well. I jumped at him and he looked startled or surprised, I couldn’t tell which. I definitely caught him off guard, I landed a solid punch on his jaw and he stumbled back some. He blew fire into his hand and threw it at me. I quickly blocked it and sent it back to him using the air around me. He seemed slightly stunned and slightly amused. “I guess you don’t know everything about me, dragon.” He smiled at me, hopefully I will be able to give him some hell. I lunged forward again and he stepped back. I made sure to keep myself between him and the children. “Chastity, try to read his mind. Maybe we can figure out a weakness.” I told her as he smiled at me tauntingly. “You got it.” She said then put up a wall between us. “I wouldn’t be so quick on that one, and if you want to actually insult me, call me by my real name. Cyrus.” He lunged at me and I managed to block him, this would be so much easier if I could shift. He blew out smoke from his nose and lunged again, this time he was true to his aim and punched me in the gut and I leaned forward and all the wind was knocked out of my lungs. I quickly caught my breath and dropped on my back, spinning myself and knocking his legs out from under him. I jumped on top of him and began throwing punch after punch. He quickly grabbed me and threw me on my back, he straddled me and began squeezing my throat. “Something you should know about me,” He leaned closer to whisper to me, “I like watching the light leave my victims eyes.” I began fighting against him when I heard Asyra. “NO! STOP! I will go with you!” He released my neck but kept me pinned down. He smiled and looked back at me; he leaned in again and whispered in my ear. His breath smelt of smoke and was making me nauseous. “Seems your daughter would rather I take her then watch you die.” He slammed me down on the ground. Black dots swam before my eyes. “Asyra NO! You cannot! GO find Daddy!” Cyrus slammed me down again and placed his knee on my chest. “Sister, no!” Luc screamed. “For such a skinny man he sure is f*****g heavy!” Chastity grunted in my head. “He has his mind blocked, I can’t get through to him.” I tried shoving his knee off me but he picked me up by the shirt and threw me into the mantle I grunted when I hit. I slammed into the floor and then nothing but darkness. Asyra’s pov Oh my goddess he is going to kill my mom! I could feel the tears in my eyes, “Asyra, go with him, it’s the only way to save your mom, we will come back, I promise.” I had to trust my wolf. “NO! STOP!” I screamed it louder than I thought I could. “I will go with you!” My words came out more confident than I actually felt. She yelled at me to go find daddy but I knew he would kill her if I left. Luca grabbed me and I pulled my arm free from his grip. “Luca, stop.” I said firmly. He looked at me as tears flooded his eyes. “It will all be okay.” I told him. I turned to the man in front of me and he smiled. He leaned down and whispered something to my mom before he picked her up and threw her across the room into the fireplace. “Mama!” I screamed and tried to run to her but he yanked me up by the waist and marched us towards the door to the balcony. I looked around, it was like I was in a dream. No, not a dream, a nightmare. Luca was running towards us, my mother was bleeding out on the floor. The guards were motionless on the floor, and I was being hauled away from my family. I tried to wiggle free but his grip was just too tight. I sucked in a breath when he jumped off the balcony and I was no longer in his arms, I was falling to the ground then suddenly I wasn’t. I looked up and realized I was in his claws. His very sharp claws. They made me feel like I was in a cage. Tears began to roll down my cheeks as I watched my home slowly fade from my view. What am I going to do? How will I ever get back? Once the castle was completely gone from my sight I turned my head and looked forward, the sky was beautiful and the moon was full. I watched the clouds and they moved past us, well I guess we moved past them. I looked over and noticed another dragon, I could make the colors of this one out from the moonlight. This one was a deep maroon color with black on his back moving down to it’s tail. I watched his large strong wings lift him up and down in the sky, how could something so scary look so majestic? “Because they are majestic, and gorgeous.” My wolf answered my question. I sighed heavily, what is going to happen to me? Did I make the right choice? Maybe I should have run to find daddy? “If we hadn’t Mama would be dead right now. He would have killed her.” She had a point, I guess I am just scared. I took in a few more breaths as I calmed my nerves, I will not let these creatures scare me nor will I show them any emotion. My wolf nodded at me in agreement, we have to be strong so we can get back to our family. I felt the cold wind slowing down, I watched the other dragon as it flew ahead and made a very large smoke ring. He flew through it and disappeared, where did he go? I watched as we flew closer and closer to the same ring. My fear grew as to what this could possibly be, we went through it and it was a whole other world. Literally, the sun was shining bright like it was in the middle of the day, there were tons of other dragons flying in the sky now. I leaned forward as I watched one dive down before swooping back up before it hit the bright blue ocean waters. I saw another smaller dragon with two bigger dragons standing on a very large and tall cliff. He jumped off at the same time as the other two did. At first I thought he was going to fall to his death until he, wobbly, came back up just before hitting the water. There were trees everywhere and a large castle caught my attention. It was made of a dark stone and had a red roof. I could see people walking around the castle grounds as we neared. Fear began to swell in my belly as we neared the ground. We were about six feet off when the dragon dropped me unexpectedly to the ground. I landed with a great big thud and I felt my shoulder pop when I landed on it. I groaned in pain as I sat up, I looked up at the two dragons that shifted back into their human form. I quickly stood up and began running when I slammed into a wall. Well I thought it was a wall and it may have been with how hard it was. It was actually another person, I was again on the ground and I whimpered when I felt the power radiating off of him. “Cyrus, Winston, please tell me why this mutt is here.” He looked at the two men stalking towards me. The other man was the man I now knew to be Winston, he was the one who was in attendance at the coronation. “Apologies to your majesty, this is the wolf you had sent for.” He looked down and smiled at me, not a good smile either. It was a smile that sent a wave of fear down my spine and made my stomach turn. “You are the first ever female born to a line of white wolves.” He smirked at me as he bent down and yanked me up. “How old are you?” I just glared at him, my wolf was growling in the back of my head. She wanted to shift but I knew we wouldn’t stand a chance. He glared at me, “You will answer me IMMEDIATELY!” He screamed and I flinched, so much for not showing them any emotion. I glared at him as I spoke, “I am ten.” He rolled his eyes, and looked disappointed. “Take her to the dungeon, have her shoulder reset from the rough landing and I will be down later to deal with her.” He said the last part directly into my face, his smokey breath burning my nose as I breathed in the smoke. I started coughing as he threw me at Winston. They bowed their heads and then dragged me towards the dungeon, literally I wasn't going to make it easier for them I even dug my heels in. I could smell the blood as we neared the place they were trying to take me. Anja started to take over, they struggled even more to get me to the dungeon. “Damn this one is strong, even with a f*****g dislocated shoulder.” Cyrus said and he purposefully yanked on my shoulder causing a sharp pain through my whole arm and shoulder. I shouted in pain and he just laughed at me, I looked around and could see the cells were kept really dark. Eventually my eyes would adjust but I could hardly make anything out if we weren’t near a torch. I was shocked they still used torches here, at home dad had the contractor put lights throughout the castle. Dad also treats most of the people he puts in prison pretty decently as some have been put in there because they went crazy from losing their mate. I counted twenty cells that we walked by before they stopped at one. I cried out as they tossed me into the dirty cell, I just sat on the floor by the wall. “Well Anja I guess all we can do now is wait.” “Get up, let’s put our own shoulder back in. Stand up and grab your wrist with your other hand.” I was stunned by what she said but I guess it’s better than being touched by someone we don’t know. I did as she said, I stood up and did what she said, “Now pull it straight out in front of you, then push back and bring your arm down.” I did as she instructed and felt a pop in my shoulder. To say it hurt like a b***h would be an understatement, I had to catch my breath. We will not be seen as weak in front of these scumbags. I mean who the hell kidnaps a ten year old? I let out a sigh and walked over to the corner of the room, I noticed a small little ripped up dirty blanket sitting on the floor. I sat on it and pulled my knees up to my chest with my good arm and pulled the other around my chest to give it support. I put my head on my knees and closed my eyes. Maybe I will be able to get some sleep in this place. “Yes, I say get whatever sleep you can, who knows if we will get another chance to sleep.” I tucked my head down and curled in on myself the best I could. What have I gotten myself into? Cyrus’ pov I stood hidden from the young she wolfs sight. She was quite small for being ten. I thought she was closer to five or six. I could feel my dragon, he was upset with what we did. Dragon’s aren’t like wolves. They don’t speak to us, but we can feel their emotions. I watched in shock as she pulled her arm out in front of her. Then she shoved her arm back into her socket. This was one tough little girl, she might be small but she has a heart of fire. I sighed, hoping that I didn’t hurt her mother too badly. I wish I didn’t have to do this, but Erik is the king of dragons, sadly I am one of his right hand men. I looked at the young wolf as she wrapped herself up in the shredded bits of cloth. I turned and walked out of the dungeon and straight to the servant’s quarters. I walked in and found Gina, “I need to speak to you.” I told her sternly. She sighed and nodded her head. I followed her into a deserted room and quickly closed the door behind us. Everyone thought her and I were an item, but truth is she is the only one who knows who I truly am. “Gina, I need your help.” “What have you done this time?” She asked dully. I rubbed my hands together, “Something I am not proud of.” I said and she eyed me suspiciously. Gina was like a mother to me. “I kidnapped a little girl.” Her jaw dropped and she looked at me in shock. “Why in the god's world would you do that?” She asked in a higher pitched voice. I sighed, “Erik wanted her. But she is very young.” I said as I started to pace back and forth. “How young are we talking?” She asked as she put her hands on her hips. “She is ten, Erik had us put her in the dungeon.” I said and she glared at me. “That is no place for a young woman. Who is she?” She asked me, her anger rising. I bit my lip and sighed. “She is the daughter of King Zeke and Queen Jane of the Moon Trails Pack.” She stepped back a few paces, “why would he do that?” She asked quietly. I shook my head, “I don’t know, I was just following orders. I didn’t know she was so young. It was not something I wanted to do, I tried to talk him out of it.” I said feeling quite defensive. “What do you need from me?” She asked. “I need your help to make sure she is taken care of. I don’t want her getting sick or being hurt. I will do what I can to keep him from hurting her.” I told her. “We both know your influence over him will only get that little girl so far. Do you know why he wanted her?” She asked. I nodded my head, “He wants to marry her to his son and then have the strongest heir possible.” She covered her mouth with her hand as she gasped. It was like the situation with my sister all over again.
