The figure loomed over the man sprawled on the floor and let out a guttural groan sniffing all round his body and sneezed "SICK" Once again it jumped on a metallic stretcher and howled facing the moon. The old man twitched and opened his eyes slightly, just in time to catch the disappearing silhouette breeze through the broken window, blacking out once more. ********** The morning sunlight hit her face and her brows furrowed as she rolled over PANG!! The clock's pieces struck the tiles floor "f**k!?" she cursed ruffling her bird's nest as she clumsily got out of bed and picked the broken pieces she winced as a sharp end pricked her skin. "that's gonna hurt" a male voice came in "Detective" she yawned as he carefully avoided the shards and sat on the bed "I specifically told you it's today and you still woke up late...again" she rolled her eyes "cut me some slack aye? We both know I have no compulsion to go through with this" He nodded tentatively "You'll adjust I'm sure" he echoed. she spat her toothpaste and rinsed her face and mouth "one word; BULLSHIT" He Chuckled at her ministrations "come on it won't be as bad as you think it is. Besides..you knew they'd do this. " she nodded "be right back" she stood over the shower head and closed her eyes, suddenly wondering why she made some decisions "Hey pick out the usual for me will you?" ********** "You ready?" Det.Colton asked holding her hand "Not really?" she squared her shoulders feeling the usual anxious to goes bubbling up..and that too a ton stronger than ever. what's wrong with me? "S-should I bail? What if I really don't make it? what if-" "Stop. Okay, we've gone over this, now's not the time" he assured her dotingly "I-I could lose my job..." "You could also earn twice and fire that motherfuckery of a man" she caught the spiteful undertone and laughed feeling lighter "Colton, I knew I'd rub off on you someday. It's been a good few years working with you" They hugged once more before he unloaded her work box and bags from his car "I'll really miss you, you know... I'll try visiting as soon as possible. I can't promise though, with the kids and Milly-" "It's fine. You've done more than enough. Kiss your wife for me" He smirked "I'll do just that" they laughed for a good few minutes. Once he left..the tingles came again. She took a deep breath 'this can't be any worse' and walked into the new building. "Detective" a staff greets her politely as she struts while her index finger rubs the base of her thumb. today would be the days she gets to see her new partner and couldn't will herself to feel any better about it. Not to mention the conditions her superior put on her if she were to apply for a transfer. The small female staff eyed her body enviously her long brunette hair tied up in a tight French plait, casual black wear with sneakers didn't do justice to her bomb ass figure "Keep looking and I might just eat you right here." The female blushed "Sorry ma'am..we don't get pretty faces around here often" "Ma'am I'll send you luggage to your room" "Quick question..why do I have to live in the building?" Ms. Trammell shrugged "Company policies, and ..well your new partner has some sort of Influence. He likes his minions available to him, as he puts it" Partner, she wrinkled her nose as that word "huh?" "I said what's your name?" "Oh it's..well it's..Alia..Alia Miller" Trammel came closer "Now that I see it..you like a little pale.. anything bothering you dear?" Alia shook her head "I'm just under the weather. new place and all" Trammell nodded "Your partner is waiting in the cafeteria, take the door to your right and down the stairs. Good luck.. he's a handful" Alia stood there and reached for her stress ball..those tingles again... ********** "Ay yo Rickie! How about your new partner?" one of the boys spoke excitedly as others joined in. Rick rolled his eyes "Give her a break already. It's her First Day...you can do whatever you want with her afterwards" the boys snickered. "What I thought she just wants you?" "As all the others" Rick scoffed and joined in the laughter. Suddenly, the table went silent and Rick frowned "What!?" he followed their eyes and turned around to find a small fit woman standing near him. From his sitting position, he had to look up to see her face . His brown eyes met with her glittery brown ones in a silent fight for who would blink first. The woman eyed him up and down In a rather scrutinizing manner that he felt a sweat droplet going down his spine. Did she hear what I said? he found himself asking "Are you mute Sir? can you talk? Or will you stare with your mouth wide the whole damn day" Rick barely registered the guys stiffling their laughs He was more concerned as to how he didn't...feel... her coming towards them "Who are you?" She wrinkled her nose once more, s**t, did he smell or something? "You must be that person? My partner?" Rick shook his head "Your na-..Alia?" Her eyes widened "You stalk me? How did you know that." Rick pinched his nose "Excuse me" He storms off. "Alia right?" "Uh-huh." "Welcome to High Cove Special Cases Branch. I'm Abel, your senior" "Umm..hey..soo who are the others?" He smirked "Oh they'll introduce themselves..now you need to follow me."
