The day went on quietly. They talked about what they would present to the alliance members - those who had signed the treaty - including Maverick.

“Maverick is a real stubborn d**k” Alex was saying. “There’s no way he will give up anything without a fight of some kind or something in return.
Elena agreed knowing that this was definitely true and they talked about some options they could provide him. Most of all was his safety if the Vampire Queen did attack.
“I will be there, Mia. But mostly as a support to you” her dad rubbed her shoulder. “You have your team. Your people. We support you and your choice”. They all nodded in agreement but Mia still wasn’t as sure.
