Chapter 4

Chris' pov I took Nico's face in my hands and pulled her close. Kissing those lips deeply and filled with desire. It feels so good. I can finally have this woman as my tender. Then, I looked deeply at her. I saw Nico smiling. Ah, Nico's face reminds me of Nevea. Regrettably, I had to break up with that woman. She was the perfect woman and could have handled the werewolves in the pack well. Well, if only she wasn't barren and could give me offspring. But don't worry, Nico will give me everything I want. I'll soon have offspring and make her my successor. I gave Nico one last peck on the lips after our deep kiss. She looked at me and said, "I'll wait for you at home." I nodded in agreement because right now, I was also busy taking care of a lot of werewolf business. When I walked out, I could see that the people in the pack didn't have much respect for Nico's position as my luna. They looked down on him and were different. Anyone could feel it. But that didn't matter. Things would be different the next time Nico gave birth to offspring for me. I had just closed the door to my room when suddenly my ears buzzed violently. I almost staggered and immediately clung to the nearest wall. My head felt like it was going to burst. Something inside tried to come out and speak, "You i***t! I told you this was a bad choice! Why did you throw Nevea away for that cheap b***h?" I sighed roughly and chose to sit on one of the chairs. It was Luke, the wolf on the other side of me. We shared a body and memories, but this wolf didn't like the decision I had made for my life. Then, the grey wolf said again, "You know she is destined for us! Damn it! I miss her." I closed my eyes with resentment building up since Nevea left this house. With a low growl, I said, "Shut up!" I knew that this wolf would not accept me rejecting my bond with Nevea. "I know best what is best for this pack. Why keep a Luna who is deformed and can't give me offspring? " I could hear Luke growl, "You'll regret it later." It was annoying. I've been holding it in since before, but this wolf won't shut up. With a rage I couldn't contain anymore, I hit the table so hard that I heard a crack. Whatever it was, I wanted this thing to stop talking and making my head even hotter. Catching my breath and ignoring him, I concentrate until I manage to temporarily shut Luke up. Now, I can take a deep breath and stand up. I looked ahead, where a chair where Nevea used to sit and read books was still in the same place. "I've been patient for a year, waiting for her to give me good news. But to no avail. She's just an empty skeleton that can't give me hope." I grinned. "Now, everything feels better now that Nevea is gone. And I don't care where she lives. She's a burden that makes it harder for me to care for her." After that, I walked out of the house and went to do my duty as alpha. Taking care of the pack and supervising matches while training my fighters to become great fighters who could defend the pack was one of my goals. Now, with the sweat already drying and the sun almost setting, I ended the training session. Finally, I can go home and rest. But apparently, I can't do that right now. Someone was waiting for me at the gate with a grim face. An elegant woman with her hair in a low bun. The woman looked at me sharply. She was my mother, Sonia. I almost greeted her before she looked up and said, "You did such an act without talking to me first." Mom walked over and pointed at me right in the chest. She pressed it quite firmly and then said in an emotional voice. "You threw away Nevea, my daughter-in-law who was so good, so beautiful and could do everything. She was my perfect daughter-in-law." I sighed wearily, for this was going to be a long one. I firmly removed mom's hand from my chest and said, "It's mom who doesn't know anything here. She can't give me a child. Of course, she should be thrown away." I looked confidently into Mom's eyes. "I am the alpha here, not mom. I'm the one in charge here, not Mom! " With my teeth chattering, I still held myself back from exploding. She couldn't just say that I had thrown Nevea away. She was discarded because she was worthless. An alpha should not keep things that have no use. Mom shook her head. The woman said, "I'm so disappointed in you. Especially that one b***h, Nico. She is nothing compared to my perfect Nevea." Listen to what mom has to say about my new luna. I grinned and bent down to equalise our height. I told her clearly and definitively. "You'll find out when Nico gets pregnant and gives birth to my child." I left immediately afterwards without turning around at all. I didn't care what she had to say about my decision. There was nothing to regret about Nevea leaving the pack. I was home now. I stood before the gate as the guards opened it directly for me. I took a deep breath, feeling the pain in my head that wouldn't go away. I also felt uncomfortable, something was missing from my life, and I didn't know what it was. Even so, I continued my life when I saw Nico come out and greet me with a smile. Ah, she's the new luna who will make all my dreams of crying babies come true in this house. So, I went over and embraced her. The next day, when I was again busy with all the business about the pack, Lawson came in after knocking on the door. I lifted my face and saw the delta bowing in greeting and said, "Alpha, someone wants to see you. She says it has to do with Mistress Nevea." Hearing the woman's name, I immediately refocused on all the data I was studying. I shook my head and waved my hand in gesture. "I have no more business with Nevea. I've already disposed of her." Without even turning my head, I knew that Lawson would have nodded by now. But then, I heard the man speak again, "This is Doctor Anne from Oak Cress hospital, Alpha. She has something important to say. But, if you don't want to see her, I will send her away immediately." The delta turned around, and I immediately exclaimed without looking up. "Send her in quickly. I don't have much time." Moments later, someone came back into my room. I looked up and saw Doctor Anne bowing. "Good afternoon, esteemed Alpha Chris. Nice to meet you." I nodded and told her to sit down with a gesture of my hand. After she sat down, I put the pen in my hand and told her. "Now, I have no more business with Nevea." When I said that, the doctor was visibly agitated. The woman bit her lip, making me wonder why she looked like that. One of my eyebrows shot up. Moreover, when the doctor said, "I didn't know that Alpha had rejected Luna Nevea." The doctor swallowed heavily. "Luna Nevea is currently pregnant." "Pregnant?" I asked incredulously. I shook my head and leaned against the back of the swivel chair I was sitting on. I casually crossed my legs. "Don't joke around. I know that Nevea can't conceive a child. That woman is deformed. All her life, she'll just be a useless empty vessel. You're not making this up. She'll never be able to give me offspring. She's a barren woman." This was so funny that I laughed at it. What other joke was this doctor trying to tell? It was clear that Nevea had said that she would never be able to give me offspring because she had a problem with her uterus. I won't forget that easily. Doctor Anne's eyes seemed to widen. "Huh? Luna Nevea is not barren at all. Her uterus is very fertile. And right now, she is pregnant. She is already four weeks old." "What did you say?" I shouted and stood up immediately. Sharply, I looked into the eyes of the doctor in front of me. "You can't joke with me!" The doctor shook hee head quickly. "I've examined her myself, Alpha." I was silent now, my memory drifting away to the day Nevea left home. She showed me a doctor's letter with the name of the hospital where Doctor Anne worked. She handed me the letter, which was already torn and shattered. "I have also given you the document containing Luna Nevea's pregnancy, Alpha." The doctor added a caption. And here, I immediately realised that Nevea had done a great deed. I growled before shouting. "Damn it! That woman tricked me!" Just as I felt so angry, I heard Luke laughing in my head. "What did I tell you? You'd better be patient. " Luke laughed again, this time in a very annoying tone. "Now, you're going to suffer, right?" I clenched my hands on the table and muttered, "Traitor." But this damn thing in my head replied in the same rootless tone. "You're the one who betrayed first." "Damn it!" I slammed all the files on my desk until Doctor Anne was scared. The woman backed up and ran out of the room without saying goodbye, and I didn't care. I felt that I had been cheated and wronged by a woman. Suddenly, Lawson appeared from the door. I saw him and immediately gave the order. "Find Nevea's whereabouts now! She's carrying my child!"
