Soon, I was literally over my head in the stacks and looking over the covers as well as flipping to the back pages to see how they wrapped it up. First and last, that was the kicker for any book. Did they pull you in and did they leave you wanting more?
I was looking a bit wider this time, looking for romantic mysteries, not just the stock romance which always had the same plot. I'd even read that you can open almost any romance to a certain page percentage and find what plot twist turned where. The industry had become too predictable for any but they most die-hard romance avid reader escapist.
