The last days of a Vampire Hunter

Chapter four

Pitman stayed with Adrian for three more days after the raid in his house. Since that incident, Pitman had not returned to his apartment. He knew his neighbors could have called but he wisely did not give any of them his number or gave them a wrong one. He was clever enough because he knew that such information could be used to track him.

That morning, Pitman dressed up and waited for Adrian to get dressed. They were to meet the scientist that day. They had a rushed breakfast and got ready to leave. Adrian opened the remote controlled garage door and they hopped into his black SUV.

As they drove down to the denim agency's headquarters, they passed by Pitman's apartment. They noticed there had been a lot of changes in that area. It was unusually quiet. Adrian asked if they could stop by and check it out but Pitman resented. As they drove on they drove by two police vehicles which very close to his apartment. They never knew that the police had gotten news of the case. No wonder the unusual silence. Maybe someone had called the police and reported the case of the raiding of his neighbor's apartment or even the case of a missing neighbor. Nonetheless Pitman was not showing himself, at least not now.

On the way Pitman told Adrian about the lady he met the other day. Adrian was happy to hear this because he believed his friend was getting over the loss of his family. He even promised to borrow him some of his outfit and even take him to a barber in a bid to make him look good of which Pitman obliged.

When you are busy falling in love, don't forget what you do. Adrian advised him.

Pitman understood this, he should never forget that he was a vampire hunter and he had already that is what he will always be.

When the reached the headquarters the big black gate opened and there were denim agents standing at either side of the driveway. When he reached his own private parking lot, an agent rushed to his car and took his key. He waited for Pitman to get down before he proceeded to park the car very well.

The denim agency's headquarters was very big. The compound was wide. The parking lot was also big enough to contain over one fifty cars this was because most of the denim agents owned cars.

The main building was a tall skyscraper made of high quality bullet proof glass.

At a point Pitman could not believe that Adrian achieved all these feat on his own.

Adrian came from a very wealthy family. His father was government personnel but Pitman could not remember his exact post in the government and did not want to ask him. Anyways, it was from this affiliation of his family with the government that made it easy for him to establish the denim agency and erect all this magnificent structure.

They were informed that the scientist was already waiting for them. They quickened their footsteps as they went to meet him.

The scientist was seated waiting for them in his office.

Good morning Mr. Adrian, he greeted.

Sorry I am late, Adrian apologized. Can you please remind me your name again.

I am Mr. Mitoma, the scientist replied.

Mr. Mitoma meet Mr Pitman our one and only field agent, Mr Pitman meet Mr Mitoma our scientist and inventor.

Mitoma and Pitman both shook hands.

I have been longing to meet you, Pitman told Mitoma as they shook hands.

Mr Mitoma, Adrian continued, Mr Pitman here, will be the one to carry out this operation. He is very experienced when it comes to dealing with Vampires. He is physically strong has the right weapons for them, he knows when to strike, how to strike, whom to strike and at what time to strike.
