Chapter 4

1080 Words
For over a decade, Anita had ruled from the shadows. As the wife of a powerful tycoon, she had learned early that influence was just as deadly as weapons, and when influence was not enough, bullets always finished the job. Families weaker than hers were crushed without warning, their companies stripped away piece by piece until nothing remained. Anyone who dared to resist disappeared quietly, as if they had never existed at all. That was how the Brentwood name rose to dominate Boron City, until it became untouchable, feared, and absolute. Inside the warehouse, the air felt heavier with every passing second. “I won’t give up my money,” Christopher said hoarsely, lifting his head with effort despite the pain that ran through his body. His voice carried stubborn pride even as his strength was fading. “I don’t care who sent you.” Jaden’s lips curled into a slow, wicked grin. “Fine,” he said calmly, as if the words meant nothing to him. “Then let’s make this interesting.” He tilted his head slightly and motioned toward his men. Their attention shifted immediately toward Anna. The moment she realized what was about to happen, her body went cold. “I’m going to have a lot of fun with your daughter,” Jaden continued casually, his voice dripping with cruelty as he took another step forward. “Right here in front of you. Let’s see how long you can resist before you break completely.” Christopher’s eyes widened in pure horror as he began struggling violently against the ropes that held him. “Don’t you dare,” he shouted, his voice breaking between rage and fear. “I swear I will—” But he never finished his sentence. Jaden moved without warning. He lunged forward and grabbed Anna by the wrist with crushing force. “No! Let me go!” Anna screamed immediately, struggling with everything she had, but his grip was like iron, unshakable and merciless. Her nails scratched at his arm, her body twisting desperately, but none of it made any difference against his strength. Jaden sneered as he pulled her closer. “You should have listened, old man.” The words had barely left his mouth when something changed in the air. A sharp whistle cut through the warehouse. Feep. A dagger appeared out of nowhere, spinning through the dim light like a flash of death before striking with perfect precision and burying itself straight through Jaden’s wrist. A brutal scream tore from his throat. “Arrghh!!!” Blood sprayed across the concrete floor as his hand jerked violently backward, his grip instantly loosening. Anna fell backward onto the ground, gasping as she scrambled away, her whole body shaking from shock and terror. Jaden staggered back, clutching his injured wrist, his eyes wide in disbelief and pain. And then a calm voice echoed from above. “Didn’t your mother teach you how to treat a woman?” Silence fell instantly. Every head in the warehouse snapped upward at the same time. Perched casually on one of the steel beams near the ceiling was a man, sitting as though the entire warehouse was nothing more than an ordinary place to rest. One leg hung loosely, his arms crossed, and his posture carried an unnerving calm that did not belong in a place like this. There was something unsettling about him, not just his presence, but the way he looked at them as if he had already decided how everything would end. Anna stared in disbelief, unable to understand how someone had appeared without any of them noticing. Jaden’s face twisted with rage, pain, and shock all at once. “Who the hell are you?!” he roared, holding his bleeding wrist. “Kill him! All of you! Now!” The men reacted instantly. Guns were raised toward the ceiling as fingers tightened on triggers. The warehouse erupted with gunfire, bullets tearing through metal beams and concrete, sparks raining down in chaotic bursts. The sound was deafening, shaking the entire structure as dust filled the air. But when the shooting stopped, something was wrong. The man was gone. “Where did he go?” one of the men shouted, panic creeping into his voice as his eyes searched the shadows wildly. Too late—swoosh! A blur tore through the warehouse like a storm breaking free from chains. Slice! One man screamed as his arm was cut cleanly at the shoulder, blood spraying across the wall in a wide arc like paint thrown by an angry hand. His weapon clattered to the ground a second before his knees gave way. Stab! Another barely had time to turn before a blade pierced straight through his throat. His eyes widened in shock as his voice died instantly, replaced by a wet, choking sound as he collapsed backward onto the cold concrete. Justin moved like something beyond human sight. Not fast in a way that could be followed, but like a shadow that existed in every direction at once, never staying in one place long enough to be understood. Before the remaining men could even react, his knee slammed upward into one man’s face with crushing force, breaking bone on impact. The man flew backward, crashing into the ground without a sound. In the same motion, Justin spun and drove his elbow into another man’s throat, crushing his windpipe instantly and leaving him gasping helplessly as life drained from his body. A split second later, a brutal kick sent another body flying into stacked crates, the impact echoing through the warehouse with a sickening crack as wood shattered under the force. Blades flashed in the dim light. Blood flashed even faster. The warehouse turned into chaos, but only for those who were still alive long enough to feel it. Men dropped one after another, some clutching their wounds in panic, others collapsing instantly as if their strength had been cut away the moment Justin passed them. There was no chance to defend themselves, no time to even understand what kind of enemy they were facing. It was not a fight anymore. It was judgment. In less than twenty seconds, silence returned to the warehouse. All of Jaden’s men lay scattered across the floor, lifeless or too broken to move, their weapons slipping from their hands and fading into stillness as dust settled over the scene. The only sound left was the faint drip of blood hitting concrete.
