At lunch, I couldn't chat to Mike much since we were both seated at the same table and everyone wanted to speak with him. "Do you have a secret girlfriend, then?" One of his pals, Tim, inquired, his face set as though he didn't believe him at all.
"Yes," Mike replied, his face beaming with pride. I flushed like mad every time he glanced at me, and I was sure someone would notice.
