Chapter 7 — PRIDE Evelyn’s POV I woke slowly to the sound of curtains dancing in the wind. For a moment, I didn’t remember where I was. The bed beneath me was too soft, and the room was too warm. The air was too fresh. Then reality settled gently into place. I was at the packhouse with Alpha Raphael. The strange new life I still couldn’t believe belonged to me. I blinked sleepily toward the large windows, watching sunlight pour through the thin curtains in golden light.
