Chapter 8 1891 Death Awaits No Man Jacob Waltz was ill for what seemed like forever. Rain came and continued coming for several weeks. The ground so dry, floodwaters just cascaded down the mountains and onto the flat land more, more specifically Jacobs’ flatland. and flooded his home. Many heads of livestock were swept in, killing quite a few of them, and destroying most of his ranch. He struggled for days attempting to save his ranch, and protect his livestock.
