We had to make it. There was no other way. The rogues were silent instead of howling for backup, which I took to mean that they didn't want to alert anyone at Harvest Moon to their presence. They wanted to take us before we reached the border. They outnumbered us two to one, and that was if you included Wade on our side. Which I wasn't counting on. It was likely he would turn on us if it came down to a fight to save his own skin. I remembered Marci mentioning him after her escape. He was her cousin, a couple years younger and wasn't able to get away from their uncle and come with her. He was one of the ones on my list to try and save. If we got through this alive, I hoped we could help him.
