As soon as Claire returned home, she saw Andrew sitting on the sofa. After last night's ordeal, he had stubble on his chin and looked disheveled, unlike his usual well-groomed self.
"Why didn't you gather the money sooner?" Andrew yelled at Claire, showing none of the humble pleading from the police station, only harsh blame.
"Money?! How could I have so much money? I can't use company funds! How could I possibly come up with 500 thousand!" Claire was shocked by his outburst, her worry for him turning to anger.
"Then you should have borrowed it!"
Seeing the stubborn and arrogant man before her, Claire became utterly disappointed.
"This is the last time. I won't help you again." Claire turned and went upstairs.
"Fine! I'd like to see how you'll live without our support!" Andrew shoute
