Chapter Twenty-Six After Gloria had showered, and entered the kitchen fully dressed—thank goodness for that overnight bag—she found a plate of scrambled eggs and toast waiting for her on the kitchen island. Just like in the bathroom, most of the kitchen countertops were made of marble. “Oh my God. You’ve made my wildest dreams come true.” Gloria sat, piled some eggs on a slice of toast, and tried not to wolf down her breakfast. Missing dinner was one thing.
