MAYA’S POV “Can I have a word with you?” I asked Beta Kierra after walking up to her. I could have waited for her to be done on the training ground before walking up to her, but I didn’t think it was necessary. I woke up some minutes ago, and the minute I did, I just knew I had to have a word with Beta Kierra. She didn’t drop her sword, and it meant that she hadn’t given me an audience yet. I knew she didn’t like to be disturbed while training. I would apologize for doing that once she gave me an audience. “I’m sure whatever it is you want to talk about can wait. I have to train before the sun comes out,” she said to me. “It can’t wait, that’s why I’m here,” I replied. One thing about Beta Kierra, she had a soft spot for me. She barely said no to me, and I loved to use that advantage
