I wake from a deep and restful sleep. The warm rays of the spring sun infiltrate the bedroom, warming my face and casting an orange glow on everything it touches. I stretch and roll over, surprised to find Troy’s side of the bed empty. Grabbing my phone from the bedside locker, I nearly choke when I see that is it already past eleven! I can’t remember the last time I slept so late, but then I don’t usually stay up as late as I did last night. Just thinking about the fun we all had together makes me smile. Everything was so easy, and after my Dad saw his car, we were all on a giddy high. Maybe the wine had a little something to do with it. We finished the night on the back porch, gazing up at the stars and talking about the most random things. I finally have the family I have always wanted,
