I reached out for the doorknob after I crawled out from underneath my covers, emerging like a butterfly from a cocoon, swinging my legs over the side of the bed. As my warm feet hit the cold floor, I got shivers that send chills up my spine. I shook off the chills and drag my weary body to the steep staircase. Ascending those dreadful stairs is a struggle. I cautiously looked down the stairs into the inky blackness below. Biting my lip, I started to make my way down the stairs. The light switch is at the bottom. I looked behind me, one last peek of light before I carried on descending the stairs into the unknown. I stepped down from step to step cautiously.
