Rémy’s car passed my street. He hadn’t said that he wanted me to sleep over, and though I wanted to be with him, it kind of bothered me he just assumed I would. A minute later Rémy pulled into the parking lot of his building and switched off the ignition. Then he got out of the car and bounded toward the front entrance, not looking once to see if I was behind him. I grabbed my leather bag out of the back seat and got out of the car, inwardly debating whether I should just follow along behind him or walk the two blocks to my place.
