Chapter Twenty-Three Rémy “Well. Isn’t anyone going to speak?” I moved from behind Gray and paced around the room, waiting for answers. When I’d walked in, the first thing I noticed was all the color draining from Gray’s face. That was clue number one that my suspicions were correct. They wanted to split us up. “Rémy, I think you are overreacting.” Angela tapped her pen against the open file in front of her. “Gray gets called to a meeting without me. Since he is my personal assistant, I find that alarming. In my mind, you are keeping something from me, or trying to drive a wedge in between us somehow.” My knuckles cracked from clenching my fists, sharp staccato sounds that echoed in the tense air. “Perhaps this has absolutely nothing to do with you? Have you ever thought about that?
