Sashta slowly releases her breath when she closed the door of the high court. She did not waste more time, she just wants this mission to be over. It's getting on her nerves.
"You know I could easily kill you in that state" Sashta turn around and met the silver eye healer.
"You wish. You can't even kill me when I'm asleep, Rico" he just rolled his eyes and follow her behind.
They reached the stable, this is the only place that Sashta feels at ease.
The building was located at the back of the covenstead, this is the safest place away from the lurking shadow inside the witch coven.
She touched Alex, her horse. It was the only gift from Dominique that she appreciates having.
"How many this time" She closed her eyes and lean-to Alex before answering Rico.
"All of them".
She heard Rico's gasped, he hated it in here the same way she does. Rico is not good at missions like this, he is a good soul.
The council decided to keep him because he is powerful enough to heal the warriors all at once, which is very helpful.
"Will you do it?" Rico always asked this question every single time. Her answer is always the same.
"Yes" I have to, she silently whispers.
Timothy
Timothy can't focus on his paperwork after the encounter he had with one of the elders in the council. He slammed his hands on the table, frustrated with the upcoming situation.
"You must prepare Alpha Timothy, the council will be sending someone to assassinate your pack."
"That person is good as dead once they reached the gate" Sybil smirked at the stubborn Alpha.
If only he knew how many that person killed in one night.
"Don't underestimate its strength. There's nothing that person couldn't do, it's up to you Timothy. Don't come running to me and says I didn't warn you"
Timothy sigh as he recalled the conversation he had with the witch a week ago. He started training the warriors day and night after that and putting up an extra barrier around the perimeters.
Lost in his thoughts while looking outside, the sun slowly sets on the horizon. Few hours left and their fate will be decided. Whatever happens, he will never allow the assassin to reach his people. He failed to protect his parents 10 years ago, but he still has the chance to protect his people.
A knock on the door pulls him out from his thoughts.
"Come in"
"Alpha" his beta Damien bows his head as a sign of respect. Timothy and Damien grew up together, Damien's family took him in right after the incident. They trained him to become the alpha that he is now.
"The warriors are ready and we also checked the perimeter, every warrior is now in their designated location." Timothy nods his head.
As the sun completely sets, the warmth of light is replaced by the cold breeze of the night.
"It's time"
They head outside, his people watch them from the distance, Timothy closed his eyes and feels the connection of every member in his pack.
Allowing his energy to flow through the invisible strings, werewolves are connected to each other the moment they accepted him as their alpha he becomes the father and the protector of his people.
Things could have been easier if he found his mate, Luna always brings comfort to the pack especially at times like this.
He nods his head as everyone starts to bow down, hope and pride glimmer through their eyes.
He signaled the warriors to move, he took a breath before allowing his wolf to break through the surface. Releasing a powerful howl before running to meet their fate.
Sashta
Sashta followed the trail that Elina showed her. She would just stop to let Alex take a rest or have a drink.
After a few hours of run, she reached the border that connects the Raven and Moon Valley pack.
A river separates both lands, she decided to let Alex stay in here. She doesn't want to catch too much attention, and bringing her horse is enough to announce her arrival.
"Stay here buddy. I'll be right back" Alex gave her a nudge before attacking the wild grass.
Sashta smiled at her horse before wearing her veil to hide her identity, being an assassin means having two lives. No one must know her true identity so that she could blend in easily.
Everything doesn't sit right, it's so silent as if the birds were expecting her arrival.
She sharpened her senses more, something is definitely wrong in here.
She placed her hand on the ground, feeling the vibrations of the earth. That is the ability that made Sashta go this far. An image would play in her head as if the earth is trying to communicate with her. But she kept that to herself, the council has taken enough and she doesn't want them to have all of her.
"This is interesting, I can't see anything. It only means that they have a powerful witch inside that could make a strong barrier. Stronger than Dominique's".
Her mind is filled with excitement, just thinking the power this person holds would make so much difference. This might be the reason that the council wants them dead, this person held more power than all the members of the council combined.
At the end of the forest lies the wall that separates her from her target. She looked around and no sign of any movements have been detected. The fire in the giant torch is the only thing that moves.
She sneaks into the gate, reaching the stone banister and pulling herself up. Sashta needs to climb up to have a better view.
The wind started to grow stronger as she reached the top of the wall. She could feel the storm coming and tiny drops of rain started falling.
A few minutes later, the rain started pouring, and the fire dies allowing the darkness to reign. She squinted her eyes to adjust when a bolt of lightning lit up the sky, in front of her is an army with red glowing eyes.
"There you are" she whispered before the dance of death begun.
