As I left the beasts body, I didn’t even try to attach to any of the pack, I knew they were protected, and me searching for something would only take up time, time I didn’t have. I only had a couple of minutes before I would start dying, so I had to act quickly. I saw a flock of birds, I would burn through their life essence in minutes but that would sustain me until I found something or hopefully someone else.
I burned through the flock of birds, jumping from one bird to the other. Minutes later, I had killed all the birds, luckily they passed some cows and I jumped to them, when in the cows, I was close to humans and I was able to jump to them after killing most of the cows.
