“I knew it could go wrong. I had contingencies. I thought I was prepared. But today… today shattered everything.”
Her hands trembled as she spoke.
“First Mike… the way he lashed out. The names he threw at me. It cracked the last bit of sanity I was clinging to. And then Eva… God, Eva. I didn’t mean for it to go that far. I just wanted her to feel the emotional hell I lived through. I wanted her to ache. Not bleed. Not collapse. Not lie there unconscious with a child inside her. It was unintentional.”
She turned to Jenny, eyes pleading.
“I’m not cruel. I swear I’m not. I didn’t want this. I didn’t want to be the monster.”
Her voice broke, and she covered her face.
“I was already unravelling. And then Damon… Damon happened. And that was the final blow.”
She looked up, tears streaking
