ES, THAT was a flock of crows dancing around his nominal host. Web rubbed his eyes again, but they were still there, not a sudden, overnight impairment speckling his vision. Web paused at the edge of the woods and watched. There were half a dozen of them, eating whatever it was that Kevin had put on the table. And one sitting on his shoulder, picking at some delicacy Kevin had handed it. He was talking to them. Web couldn’t hear the words, just a faint thread of sound blown away from him on the breeze.
