Vitani Pov
She took over, so she could get some fighting in. That also means she's eating breakfast first and likes to start arguments over anything she finds entertaining to annoy Leon. She hates anything about serious matters, but something like this, she might not start an argument. So Vitani now. I sat in a chair and watched the books fly around, enjoying my morning with everything going on. I sneaked some bacon off the plate to eat. I had put the last bite in my mouth when tongs hit my head. Looking up, Shane had leaned over the counter to smack me for stealing some bacon. "No more ruining your breakfast."
I pouted for the rest of the time until the food was actually ready. Everything I reached for something, either Shane with his tongs or Leon lowered a magic book to hit me. Men.
Storm was laughing that I couldn't get away with stealing food, knowing I couldn't puppy eyes either of them. Leon doesn't give in even when it's Storm doing it. She hates that. But she gets away with everything, but still she can't be too pouty. Shane only has eyes for Tempest, even with the same face. He can still tell me and Storm no. He claims it's the eyes that make him melt. I was pulled out of my thoughts by a plate being set in front of me. Shane had picked out all our favorites and covered the entire island with delicious-smelling food. He apparently had been trying to get my attention for the past five minutes, but I was too lost in my own thoughts.
Leon looked like he was busy getting his second plate when I finally paid attention.
Smiling, I picked the plate back up, leaving my chair. I picked bacon, pancake, sunny side up eggs with a glass of orange juice to start. Shane piled two plates high with food and two glasses of drinks, one filled with milk and one of apple juice. Leon moved to fill his plate a third time. He went through the food way too quickly, when the doorbell rang. Leaving my plate and seat to answer the door, I noticed my cats stayed in their guardian forms as if they sensed something was off. Leon was wiping his hands off with his napkin, then his mouth then got up too. Shane's eyes glowed golden. Every creature in the house sensed some kind of danger. Storm was trying to assess what kind of danger was behind the door. I asked Storm if we should change places before opening that door.
She focused for a few seconds and agreed. Changing places always did feel weird. I can't imagine what it's like for animal shifters.
Storm Pov
Tempest shared her thoughts as I smoothed out the clothes and my hair. I went to the door as the bell rang again. Clearing my throat, I opened the door, coming face to face with an unexpected group of people. The Moirai, a witch, two demons and Jack. Why Jack was here I had no idea, but before I could ask, one of the Moirai pointed at me and demanded that I go get the other two girls and meet everyone in the training building. Not waiting for a response, those three turned and started around the house. The witch and demons followed. Jack stared heavily at me before stalking off too.
Closing the door, I turned to a fuming Shane and Leon. Making a joke trying to ease the tension, I said "Well, that explains the danger sense everyone was feeling. Jack and the demons were nearby." Nobody laughed. Shane had puffs of fur showing, a sign that he was trying to control his tiger. Leon's eyes were flashing between his stormy gray eyes and black, he was also shaking with anger. Sighing, Vitani and Tempest were sharing worries about how they were going to "appear" in front of the odd group or why we had too.
Going over to my brother, I waved my hand in front of his face to get his attention, a way of getting him to focus on something other than whatever pissed him off. A chance to collect himself and figure out which way would be best. After getting a few blinks in return, I went to calm Shane, Tempest to come out long enough for both tiger and man see that she was okay. He pulled us into a tight hug, smelling our hair, helping him relax. We all have favorite scents but cannot chance someone catching on from the littlest of hints. Leon growled in frustration and anger about this.
The Moairi we understood showing up, but the rest no they pose a big problem. Scratching his neck, Leon sighed, suggested that me and Tempest switch back, so Shane and her can be the happy newly-found pair. Groaning, I agreed, all this changing though, was making our body a little tired. Tempest came back out, then walked back to the table to eat quickly, finishing the food and changing clothes. It took about fifteen minutes. Our styles are a bit different, and we have to show it now. After ten minutes, a knock came on the door, a demon demanding to know what was taking so long. An angry Shane opened the door, stood there glaring for the rest of the time, not saying a word.
Tempest pov
I came walking down the stairs to see a shakily and semi-pale demon, and a stone-cold killer look Shane's face. Leon was leaning against the wall leading into the living room, glowering at the poor demon as well. Storm and Tempest were giggling over this whole scene, knowing we wouldn't have time for laughter later. Coming to stand next to Shane, interlocking our hands and fingers. I stood there in my D.C.'s, shorts and crop top. My hair was up in a ponytail with a braid. Shane calmed down almost immediately, from my present alone. Leon stood straight at his full height, a most terror-inducing sight to behold. Looking at the demon, he shrunk under the weight of Shane's and Leon's gazes. Leon snarled, scaring the poor demon, then pretended to lunge at him, causing the demon to stumble backwards over his own two feet.
