Chapter Nine

Shane stood there staring at my brother like he had grown two more heads. "Uuhh what do you mean by that? I can't feel anything life changing from being around them." Shane asked, sounding somewhat defeated. Leon then pointed out something that no one thought to wonder about. "Which ones have you actually been around and did you look into their eyes or touch bare skin at any point? While each one was in complete control?" Tempest realized that she was the only one he hadn't been around in complete control right around the same time. Shane voiced out that same point. Leon suggested Tempest come out and see what happens. Both guys looked at me and waited for a reply. Vitani hesitated.

Vitani and I both gently told her it was her choice and if she didn't want to, it was okay. Tempest finally replied "I want to, but what if it is true, then what happens to you and Tempest?" Would I be in control all the time or what? But then what if it wasn't true? Our hopes would be crushed all over again." Tempest sighed, understanding where she was coming from. "Tempest, it's a scary possibility that he could or couldn't be your partner, but if you found out he is years later, then that's time lost. Us three cannot be scared to find stuff like this out. You know if you want to find out by yourself, you can. Leon can leave the room and Storm and I can take a nap, so you can have privacy to see how it goes." "Tempest, we will know what happens when a partner comes and be happy. You have a chance to be happy and to see what happens when a partner is actually found. We all have a suspicion he might be a partner to you or Vitani."

Leon got up and started walking up the stairs, mentioning something about food and privacy. Shane took Leon's spot on the couch next to me. "Storm, what's the verdict?" I looked into his eyes and caressed his cheek. I asked "Feel anything for me?" He shook his head no. Tempest understood what I was doing. She muttered, big bully. I grinned in response. "Now you want to do it and find out, huh?" I teasingly spoke to her. She muttered again, "Yeah, yeah. Let's get this over with." Vitani was coughing from all the laughter. I stepped back to give Tempest full control.

Tempest took control. Her eye color went to her dark cobalt blue, her lips became a soft silky red to match her dark deep red hair that had black streaks in it. Her dark tan darkened my light one. Vitani and I did what we promised and took a nap, though we didn't sleep for long. A zap and a few jolts jolted us awake.

Tempest pov

Opening my eyes, I waited til I knew Storm and Vitani had gone to sleep before doing anything. Shane was patiently waiting for me to make the first move. I lifted my head to look into Shane's golden eyes with black flecks scattered about. I felt a zap and saw Shane feel the same zap. Feeling brave and interested, I reached up and ran my hand through his golden brown curly hair and jolts ran down my arm and into my heart. Shane took my other hand and placed it on his chest, on his heart. Its beat was smooth but fast, like it was made whole for the first time since being born. I gasped as my own heart started to beat in tune with Shane's.

Raising my head up, meeting his eyes with my own. His eyes had a slight golden glow and I figured my own eyes had a blue glow. Shane smiled, whispering "I have finally found you after thirteen years." Looking into his eyes, I knew I would be cherished and loved. I felt Vitani and Storm waking up, I think the zaps and jolts woke them up. Shane asked for my hand to lead me back upstairs. Shane and I were giddy about this. We went to find Leon, and we found him at the front door staring outside. "So Tempest found her partner. In Shane, like I thought, but the world knows Tempest is still alive now, so she cannot afford to let her guard down. Shane protect her. When Vitani and Storm find their partners, their signs will show like yours had Tempest."

Leon finished speaking while moving away from the door, so I could see. Thunderclouds with reddish orange lightning are rolling in. The clouds themselves were a silvery almost black color and stretched well beyond the horizon. Lightning struck across the sky close to the house. Not a second later, thunder rolled over us and shook our house and the neighboring houses. Shane pulled me close, feeling the need to protect me from bad weather. I blushed as Storm cooed and Vitani awed. Leon chuckled and uttered out "This is going to kill me." I laughed from Shane's arms. "She'll come, Leon, then all this sweetness is what you'll have." "Or he." Leon quietly said, looking down almost like he was ashamed of his sexuality.

I tapped Shane's arm to release me. I walked up to him, lifted his head and said "He and you will be the cutest couple and us three can't wait to gush and giggle at the cuteness you both will have." Storm was whooping with excitement and Vitani was dancing and singing about all the cute couples and how much teasing and cooing was going to be involved. Rolling my eyes at them, I let Leon know their stance on the whole thing. Leon smiled and relaxed like a weight was taken from his shoulders. "Or" as my eyes lit up teasingly. Leon and Shane became weary of my tone quickly. I continued, "you could be part of a triad. And be really rare, like Shane's folks." Leon groaned and started laughing, "if that happens I wouldn't be able to work. I would be rung dry of my energy." Shane laughed and voiced out "Well, that's true. My mom and dads were always tired after having two weeks of heat every other month. They had it really bad when mom got pregnant and was even hornier. It's a good thing we have money, we also were out of food. Tigers eat just as much as Wolves and other shifters do."

Leon groaned again, putting his hands together in a mock prayer. "Goddess of love and partners. Please, I beg you do not put me into a triad, as I would not be able to handle it. My energy keeps my businesses going. But if you must put me into a triad, at least give me energy and patience." Shane laughed and pulled me to him. "I said the same thing, but it didn't matter to me what happened to me as long as there was love and trust. When the time is right...." he trailed off, looking into my eyes. I could feel the love radiating from him. I nodded, knowing he was talking about finalizing our pairing.
