Chapter Seven

1038 Words
Tempest Continued... Shane and I had finally calmed down, Shane mostly, but he was oddly protective. I'm guessing because of the danger that was right in front of us. We hurried to the office to see that it was engulfed in blue flames and a nasty smell of dark fire magic. All three of us sighed heavily, it was gonna cost us greatly to cancel this magic and it had us wondering if it was worth the cost. Storm spoke frustratedly "We have copies, but humans are gonna be looking at this and wonder what was burning to cause blue flames like that. We must cancel it quickly. I can sense nobody, human or other around. Shane's here, we all know he will watch over us while we are sleeping." She was right, of course. Shane is quiet but fierce when it comes to us and his friends. I turned to Shane and he was watching the neighbourhood while keeping us within his grasp. He was on high alert and we couldn't help but feel safer than ever before. The only other person that makes us feel this safe are Leon and his wolf, Killer. I moved just slightly and instantly Shane turned, ready to attack anyone that caused my movement. Shane calmed down after noticing it was just me reaching for his shoulder to get his attention. I giggled at his actions while my heart fluttered. Fluttered? That was an odd feeling we never had before. Storm was intrigued by this feeling and wanted to feel more, but we had more important things to deal with. "Shane, we are going to extinguish this fire. It is dark magic if you can smell it. So we need you to help keep an eye on us please. It's going to take all of our energy." Shane nodded and walked up with us closer to the blazing building. We sat on the grass and closed our eyes. Shane gasped audibly, watching us slowly change into our combined form, Nightshade. He was shocked, to say the least right, at that moment. Our eyes became a mix of faded green, dark blue and reddish orange. It was unique as no other supernatural, ever had mixed eyes like ours. Our hair darkened to the deepest black with the most vibrant red and shiniest sliver streaks. Our skin deepened its tan and our freckles became more pronounced. We sat crossed-legged and with our hands together almost in a praying form. Quietly, we heard Shane cuss up a storm from shock and aww. As quickly as he started, he stopped. Opening our eyes to look at him, he was astonished. Then I watched as he transformed into his black and white tiger. He looked like he was following his instincts, he came up next to us and proceeded to wrap his body around our back like a cushion was needed. He placed his head on top of his beefy clawed paws and his tail flicked itself onto my lap as a way of letting us know he was there to catch us when we fell. Doing this much magic was going to wipe us out for a while. Storm, Vitani and I closed our eyes to focus on that river flowing deep in our souls. Blue hues rippling in its deep pools of blues and greens. Together, we combined those pools to become almost an ocean stretching out before us. Even with our eyes closed, we could still sense the world around us shifting. A sign that someone powerful was now truly connected to the universes and letting everyone know a being that could walk among the gods was here, just leaving the unknowns open for interpretation. Some would take these signs as an act of war. Humans of course misunderstood the sudden changes as very foul weather and it was safer to stay indoors. Our spiritual body stood at the edge of the ocean and began to walk on its surface. We walked for what seemed like a while, but it was only for a short minute. Our body found the right spot for the cancellation magic. We dove and deep we went. Our souls know what they're doing. Our voices combined and it was eerie to hear. According to Shane, an incantation was coming from our lips with no doubt or faltering. Our arms and legs glowed with power and tribal tattoos showed. Ancient and meaningful, they stayed until the blue flames extinguished. We weren't able to see what damage was done before we passed out. The last thing we heard was a deep comforting rumble from our friend, Shane, letting us know we were safe and he would be there until we came too. Storming Lies... Our body had let us switch back while we were resting. So I am back in control and still very tired. Shane had shifted back and carried us to the car and back to our place. Leon was there taking a break from his night work. He flipped when he realized that it was us that, essentially letting everyone know we were here and very powerful. He yelled he didn't like the target we had put out on ourselves. I countered that no one knows what the god-like being actually looks like, so we were safe for the time being. He threw something out that I didn't know and am still in shock over. There are three gods that know your secret and they are not known for kindness or mercy. Two were out and about in the universes and the third was an enemy of our recently revealed mother, Lamashtu. Shane looked pale, almost like he already knew all of this. Leon hung his head in shame for hiding something like this for so long. He hoped that we would be safe, but it seems that was not the case. I could feel Vitani and Tempest's hurt at their deceit. Leon was told if the day comes, he has to call on an evil demon god to help defeat an evil demon goddess. He looked at me and told me there was more to our life than he had been able to tell us about.
