BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!
Someone was banging on one of Storm's finely chosen doors. She's pissed. I turned just as a Moirai, not sure which one, muttered about dealing with other problems first. Killer slowly turns to the door, a snarl forming on his face. We noticed it was Jack hitting and....BANG!! Crack. Another bang came, then followed by a crack. Killer slowly stalks toward the doors. I stepped away from the Moirai, quickening my pace to beat Killer to the door. I needed to know which window cracked and how bad. Jack hadn't paid any attention to my brother's movements, esp. when he knew better. I'm guessing he was a bit smug about me coming to let his group back in, he turned to the others to boast about it.
A Moirai shouts "Don't maul them too much, we'll need the witch and demons mostly in one piece. Jack can be bed ridden for the time being." A huff from Killer was enough as a response that satisfied the Moirai. Jack turned back to us just as I reached the doors, eyeing the crack, it looked like a lightening strike and had spread out, reaching for the edges. I looked behind him and watched as the two demons roll their eyes and the witch flip his back off. I don't think he is liked by them. He was smiling smugly as I grabbed the handles and flung the doors wide open. Before they even took one step in, I spoke "You shouldn't have cracked the window" and stepped to the side just in time for Killer to pick up his speed and bolt past me. He lowered his shoulder and knocked into Jack, using his full weight behind his shoulder to send Jack backward a few feet. Killer then jumped and landed on his target, crashing half of Jack's ribs.
I watched on in boredom, then looked at the pale witch and demons. "The next one to knock or interrupt or cause a disturbance will result in bones being broken by not just Killer, but Shane's tiger as well. Our sister won't be happy about this nasty crack in the window." Killer releases a bellow of air in Jack's face before stepping off and padding back to my side.
Killer scared the group even further. "Now behave."
And I shut the doors.
Killer sneezed as we walked back to Shane and the Moirai. They were talking low enough that even a vampire would have to strain their ears to hear them. Shane was really desperate to know how to bond us to keep us safe. The first Moirai sighed, "the shapeshifters mark each other on the neck, Death gods or gods in general, we don't know how they do it, sorry Tempest. Vitani, being a vampire, would mark her life partner on the wrist. All marks will have matching tattoos for each mate/partner, matching down to the smallest detail. Even angels/banshees have partners, although how they mark each other is also unknown."
All three of us, upon hearing that Storm will have a partner, make our heart leap with joy and excitment. Shane, meanwhile our inner happiness was over taking our body, was grinning, giddy from knowing how to protect me "But we've never had anything like this before, so we don't know what would happen to the girls. Marking them must be done carefully. If anything happens, we could lose them forever." Shane frowned but nodded solemnly.
At the same time, Storm's and Vitani's joy vanished, and they started to act strangely. Storm asked if I could move, but I realized that I couldn't move any limbs, the pain suddenly immobilizing us. Vitani whimpered as it engulfed each one of us slowly. Our body tensed from the pain. The Moirai shot to their feet panic showing all across their faces, my eyes searched for Shane, and he was just as paralyzed. Storm, feeling the brunt of the pain, was grunting before she started screaming. Vitani was panting from fighting against the pain before her voice too changes into a scream. Finally, I screamed in pain, too. The combined screams made our throat sore, surely going to be hard to speak when whatever was happening over.
Killer/ Leon paced around our body, and Shane's whining desperately, wanting to ease his three little sisters' pain. He could sense everything hurts, the agony being brought down on us. I fell to my knees, our body swayed before going forward, but Killer caught our hair before our head hit the ground. I felt the tug, but it was minor compared to everything else. A Moirai sister walked toward us, helping to get us to laying on our side. She was gentle as can be while her two sisters helped Shane come closer and lay down beside us. One Moirai picked up his hand and I tried to sound out a warning not to touch him but all she did was place his hand back on the ground, palm up then motioned for her sister to take ours and place atop his, interwining them. It immediately calmed some of the pain.
Slowly, the screams from Vitani and Storm eased into whimpers from my and Shane's hand holding. Shane and I both let out shakily breathes of short relief, looking into each others eyes. Shane sucked in sharply in the next second, "Your eyes are glowing love."
