MIRA’S POV
It was the day of Isaac and Judy's gender reveal ceremony, and we arrived in an entourage.
The event of the gender-reveal ceremony was in the estate where I grew up. The one Isaac and Judy had taken from me, my parents’ house.
The estate was exactly as I remembered it. The white marble fountain in the center, the courtyard and the main building with glass windows reflecting the sunset.
I stepped out of the car slowly with my hand resting on Ries arm and just immediately, cameras flashed, eager to capture the moment Alpha King and his Luna attended the most anticipated gender reveal.
That was how popular Isaac and Judy had become these past years. I had been locked up.
Reis leaned slightly toward me. “Remember,” he murmured, his voice low and controlled, “You are Luna Mira tonight. Not a ghost from their past.”
“I know,” I replied softly.
The gates opened fully as we approached.
“Alpha”
“Luna”
They bowed in greeting as they welcomed us warmly and directed us to the garden.
Ries glanced at me as we walked through the stone walk leading to the garden. A feeling of nostalgia hit me as I walked through the stone walk.
I remembered all the memories of growing up here, and now I had lost it all to them.
If I had been on the verge of giving up earlier, then this just steeled my resolve.
“I'll get this all back, I promise mom and dad,” I whispered.
“Are you fine?” He asked after observing me for a while.
I wasn't really fine but I just nodded.
Music drifted from the garden as we approached it and once it came into view, it was just like I knew it would be.
It was decorated with blue and pink floral arrangements covering every surface. A massive white backdrop stood near the stage with the words, “Gender reveal.” decorated with balloons and ribbons.
Judy spotted us first.
Her face lit up immediately as she hurried forward, her hand resting dramatically over her swollen belly. She wore a soft blush gown that flowed around her like a halo of innocence.
“Alpha King Reis!” she exclaimed warmly. “Luna! We are so honored you came!”
Isaac followed closely behind, in a tailored suit, a confident smile, every inch the successful businessman.
“Your Majesty,” he greeted Reis with a respectful bow. Then his gaze turned to me. “Luna Mira. It’s truly a pleasure.”
His eyes lingered on my face for half a second longer than necessary.
Did he see it?
Did he sense anything familiar?
I smiled brightly, extending my hand gracefully. “The pleasure is ours. Congratulations to you both.”
Judy beamed. “Thank you! It means so much that you’re here. Please, enjoy yourselves. Tonight is about happiness.”
Happiness.
I almost tasted the irony.
Reis placed a firm but subtle hand on my waist, pulling me slightly closer. The gesture looked possessive, protective.
Judy’s eyes flickered briefly at the sight before her smile returned.
“We must talk later,” she insisted sweetly. “Luna, I would love to get to know you better.”
Perfect.
“I would like that very much,” I replied.
“See you later,” she smiled as she moved away, and immediately she was gone. I straightened up and looked around.
The garden was filled with the elite pack leaders, CEOs, council members. Laughter floated through the air, waiters carrying champagne trays weaving between guests.
I smiled at them as they paid respects to me and at the same time, I got engaged with the events.
Later that day, Judy found me near the dessert table.
“I’ve heard so much about you,” she said softly, linking her arm with mine as if we were already friends. “They say you’re quite mysterious.”
I tilted my head with a gentle laugh. “I prefer private.”
“How refreshing,” she said. “So many women crave attention.”
She smiled. She was definitely sucking up to me, but that was how Judy was.
Underneath all of that I could see envy.
“Congratulations again,” I said smoothly, glancing at her stomach. “You must be excited.”
“Oh, beyond excited,” she gushed. “Isaac and I have built everything together. A child just completes it.”
I forced myself to nod.
“You’re glowing,” I added.
“And you’re newly married,” she teased lightly. “How does it feel to be Luna?”
I kept my expression serene. “It feels… like responsibility.”
Judy studied me carefully.
“Responsibility can be heavy,” she said. “But I’m sure you’ll manage.”
“Oh,” I replied calmly, “I always do.”
Music swelled suddenly as the coordinator called for everyone’s attention.
“It’s time!” someone announced excitedly.
Guests gathered near the stage. A massive white balloon box sat at the center, tied with gold ribbons.
Judy and Issac stepped forward together, hands intertwined.
Issac spoke first. “We want to thank everyone for celebrating this special moment with us.”
Judy dabbed at fake tears. “This child is our miracle.”
Reis stood beside me, silent, observing.
“Do you feel anything?” he murmured quietly.
“Yes,” I replied under my breath.
Hatred.
But I smiled.
Judy and Isaac grasped the golden ribbon together.
“One… two… three!”
They pulled.
The box burst open.
Blue balloons exploded into the sky, confetti cannons firing clouds of bright blue over the cheering crowd.
“It’s a boy!” someone screamed joyfully.
Applause thundered through the garden.
Judy shrieked in delight as Issac lifted her carefully, spinning her slightly. Cameras flashed wildly.
It was a boy!
“My heir,” Isaac announced, laughing out loud.
I clapped politely, my expression glowing with delight.
Inside, something cold settled deeper in my chest.
As the celebration swelled, Judy suddenly turned toward me and motioned for me to join her on stage.
“Luna!” she called sweetly. “Come here!”
The crowd parted slightly as I stepped forward gracefully.
She took my hand and faced the guests.
“It means so much to have such powerful allies supporting our family,” she announced. “Isn’t that right, Luna?”
Every eye turned to me.
I smiled, perfectly poised. “Yes,” I nod with a smile.”
Judy leaned closer, her voice lowering so only I could hear.
“You just remind me of someone,” she whispered.
My heart skipped.
“I don’t know why,” she continued softly, eyes narrowing just a fraction. “But standing this close to you… it’s almost like I’ve known you before.”
Her fingers tightened around mine. She observed me closely but after a moment she just smiled.
