There was a small gathering at the Carsons' house, which was personally prepared by Ellie and her son. They didn’t have any other visitors except for Evie’s friends, so they only made a simple dinner intended for them.
Eve and Alex arrived first at their house, and each of them brought gifts for the two celebrants. However, Eve had no idea what Alex had bought for them.
As soon as they got out of the car, she could already see her mother and Perry waving at them from the doorstep. A wide smile spread across her face as they walked toward the house.
"Mom, Perry!" she called out happily.
"Happiest birthday to the two of you! I got your favorite cake!" She greeted them enthusiastically while pushing the things in her hands toward Alex so she could hug both of them.
