"And then Bodhi ran into the room thinking Fiona have broken her feet. It was so funny because Fiona and I were so drunk that we didn't realize that we were in the restroom," Julie said as they waited for their food.
Ace leaned back in his seat comfortably as he listened to Julie's stories. "Then what happened?" he asked.
"The other girls present in the restroom kicked Bodhi out. Fiona passed out, I had to clean up the mess on her and pull her out of the restroom."
"It was such a mess, Bodhi got lectured by girls for barging into the restroom. He had to go through a lot of things," Julie said remembering Bodhi.
"To be honest, without Bodhi I don't think Fiona or I would be attending all the parties. He is the sober one, he doesn't drink as he has to drive and then take care of Fiona and me. He is a sweetheart," Julie said looking at Ace.
"Haha, are you not going to any party tonight?' Ace asked.
"There is a house party happening but you are here. I can attend the party tomorrow but I can't have dinner with you. I'm comfortable so yeah..."
"Okay."
Ace thought Julie would be leaving after the art gallery as she was getting a lot of calls from her friends. But thankfully she asked him if he is hungry as she is a bit hungry.
"You have a lot of friends?" Ace asked.
Julie thought about it. "I have a lot of followers on my i********:, I know a lot of them but not all of them are friends. The same goes in the university, I have a few friends and two best friends," Julie said.
"Bodhi and Fiona are your best friends?"
Julie smiled nodding her head. "Fiona and I have been friends since middle school. She started dating her neighbour Bodhi and now he is my best buddy and bro," Julie said.
"Bodhi didn't go to your school?"
"Nope, Bodhi went to a private school."
"So you born and brought up in Nashville?" Ace asked.
"Was born in New Jersey, in my maternal grandparent's town. Lived there for three years before dad and mum shifted our home to Nashville. All my schooling happened in Nashville then took a year break before I joined college and shifted to New York," Julie said.
Before Ace could say anything, their food came. Ace stayed quiet as they placed their hamburgers and lemonade's on the table.
Ace remembers Julia's maternal grandmother used to live in New Jersey in Blake's story. For real Julie's grandparents are from New Jersey.
"You have any relatives in New Jersey?" Ace asked.
Julie picked the french fry. "My grandparents passed away but my uncle and his family are in New Jersey," Julie said.
Ace picked his lemonade and took a sip of it. Julie started eating her french fries first. "If you took one year break how come Bodhi and Fiona are your classmates?" Ace asked.
"Point, they were on a one year trip across the continent. By the time their one year ended I was ready to join the college. We joined together," Julie explained.
Ace nodded his head. He picked his burger and took a bite of it. "How is it?" Julie asked him.
"Hmm, it's good," Ace replied.
"Good." Julie picked hers and took a large bite of it. Ace chuckled as the sauces spread on her face. Ace wanted to ask her why she took a year break but he didn't ask knowing she would say if she is ready to say.
Julie didn't care about it as she closed her eyes savouring the taste of the burger on her taste buds. "Hmm... This is bliss... I love it," Julie moaned out loving the taste of the burger.
Ace's phone vibrated, he pulled his phone out. He looked at the screen and saw Lexon's name.
"I need to reply to this message," Ace said to Julie.
"No issues, take your time," Julie replied.
Ace went through the messages that Lexon sent him. They are the match result details. He sent a quick test saying he will see the result once he is free.
"Lexon is your new manager?" Julie asked.
"Yes, Lexon is the new manager."
"Nice, he is a very good person and also funny," Julie said.
"He is, he changed a lot. He was around your age when I met him for the first time," Ace said taking a bite of his hamburger.
"Yeah, when I met him he was 22 I guess," Julie said.
"He was there all the time to meet Blake and you?"
"Nope, he only visited us twice. I don't know the reason but he came on work purpose." Ace nodded his head.
"I was actually going to meet you too but on the same day, my parents came. Blake was going to give me a surprise but I don't know what the surprise was," Julie spoke.
Ace watched the distant look growing on Julie's face. "He was so excited to tell me the surprise, I was excited too but sadly I wasn't able to know what the surprise is."
Ace knew that the surprise was the book that Blake has written. He didn't tell her that he was writing the book and she is the main protagonist. He wanted to tell her on the same day Ace came to New Jersey.
But Julie wasn't able to join and she didn't meet Blake again. "But I was present for Blake's funeral. You... I didn't see you," Julie said looking at Ace.
Ace's hand shook as he clenched his jaw. He looked at the plate instead of Julie. "I... I was in the hospital. I was wounded and I don't know what happened," Ace said.
Julie's gaze went to Ace's hand. She understood that Ace isn't comfortable talking about that situation. "Hmm, aren't you on i********:? I didn't find your account," Julie said changing the topic.
Ace is thankful that Julie changed the topic. He wasn't ready to talk about anything that relates to Blake's death and his coma.
Julie finished her hamburger. "No, I'm not on i********: or on any social media app," Ace said.
Julie's brow frowned in confusion. "You are not? Why?"
"I don't want to be on social media. I have never been on social media before and I would like to keep it that way," Ace said.
"If we want to text you something or share something?"
"Messages or call."
"Ohh."
"Yes."
Julie's phone started ringing, she declined the call and left a message.
"Hmm, I need to leave in fifteen minutes," Julie said looking at the text Fiona has sent.
"I will drop you," Ace said.
"You need to drop me at a party house," Julie said looking at Ace.
"Okay."
"Perfect."
