Julie rolled her lower lip into her mouth as she waited for everyone to enter the room. She is sitting beside her brother Greyson and Lexon is sitting right before her.
They are waiting for Maya, Sawyer and Ace to enter the room. "I didn't know that your brother is into esports," Lexon said.
"He is into esports gaming from long back," Julie said.
"Hello, I'm Greyson Alonso," Greyson said pushing his hand out for a handshake.
"Hello, Lexon," Lexon said shaking Greyson's hand.
"You are the captain of team Alaknanda?" Lexon asked.
"Yes."
"Nice, who is the captain for team Bhagirathi?" Lexon questioned.
"Grant."
Maya crossed her arms as she looked at Ace. "Is this necessary, you won't be feeling good and I don't think this is a good idea. We should leave with you and you are going to stay away from that girl," Maya said.
Ace closed his eyes tracing his finger on his forehead as many thoughts ran in his mind. "I need to know the answers. I moved on, Maya. I don't have to live without knowing the truth. I need to know what actually happened," Ace said.
"But Ace, everything will be coming back if you know the truth and I can clearly say that Blake meant about this girl in his book. I don't want you to go through that again," Maya said.
"I know... I understand what you are trying to say but understand my point of you. I have lived all these years not knowing what exactly has happened and now there is a chance of me knowing what happened. I need to know the truth and put a full stop to it, Maya. Or else the past will never leave me and I will not able to leave it too," Ace explained.
Maya was about to say something but Sawyer placed his hand on Maya's arm. "Stop, let him make the decisions for himself. He needs to know then let him," Sawyer said.
"I know that you are worried about me and my mental health but trust me if I don't learn the truth, I will be lost. I don't want to be lost..." Ace said with so many emotions playing on his face.
Maya stayed silent even if she isn't okay with Ace talking with Lexon. If she knew about Lexon knowing Julie and Blake. She would've told Lexon not to talk about the past and Blake.
"Let's go," Sawyer said.
They started walking out of the room. Ace took a deep breath as he opened the door and wandered into the next room where the others are waiting.
He always believed that the fictional Julia he loved and loves is the imagination of Blake but right now there are high chances of her being real. He can say that Julie is Julia.
Ace took his seat beside Lexon facing Julie and Greyson. Maya and Sawyer sat to the other side. They don't know how to start the conversation or where to start.
"How did you meet Blake?" Maya asked starting the conversation.
"As I said before, I met with an accident when I was in my high school. Blake took me to the hospital, I didn't remember him but after three months I had to join a boot camp to lose my weight," Julie said.
Greyson placed his hand on the back of Julie. That action didn't go unnoticed by Ace. Greyson gently started rubbing soothing circles knowing Julie.
"Wait, does that mean you were chubby before?" Ace asked.
Julie rolled her eyes, "Obviously, I was overweight and chubby before. I... I had to lose weight. So I joined a boot camp in summer vacation."
Now Ace is starting to understand why he wasn't able to recognise her as Julia and why he believed that they are completely different persons.
"Then if you joined a boot camp, how did you meet Blake?" Maya asked.
Julie looked at Maya, "You know what boot camp is right. Everyone is welcome to join if they want to go through military training and disciple. Blake joined the boot camp for discipline. I didn't recognise him but he did, we were in the same batch and camp."
"We became good friends, we stayed together all the three months. He took care of me and sometimes he would talk about his best friend. The only thing he used to share about himself was about his best friend," Julie said looking at Ace.
"So he never told you about his gaming career and past?" Sawyer.
"Nope, Blake was a mysterious man. He was a jovial person but he never cared to talk about his past life. Nor I was curious to know about his past when he is uncomfortable about it. It actually doesn't matter what he was," Julie said.
"You don't know that he was writing a book?" Ace asked. He looked into the eye of Julie waiting for her to speak.
Julie's brows frowned in confusion. "A book? No, I didn't know that he was writing a book."
"You never saw him writing something?"
"Yeah, I did. But I thought he was writing a journal. I mean I thought he has a habit of maintaining a diary," Julie said.
Ace looked at Lexon. "You know about Ace?" Maya asked.
"I did but I didn't know he was the Ace that I knew."
"Maya, Blake never told her that he was a gamer nor did he tell her that Ace was a gamer. When Blake showed brother Ace's pictures, he was different compared to now. Heck, I wasn't able to recognise brother Ace and how would she when she only saw him in the photos. Both of them changed a lot and they didn't get a chance to meet properly when Blake was alive," Lexon said.
Ace clenched his jaw, looked at the floor. Julie rolled her lips into her mouth as she was suddenly hit with the reality that she lost a sweet and beautiful person in her life.
"But brother Ace how did you select Greyson?" Lexon asked.
"As I selected you," Ace said.
"Like you selected me? Blake spoke about Greyson with you?"
Ace shook his head. "I have Blake's journal where he asked me to choose Greyson."
Greyson didn't show any expression on his face but he is surprised listening to that. He always wondered about that, he wanted to know why brother Ace choose him.
"How did Blake know about Greyson?" Sawyer asked.
"I... I told him about my family and about everything. He was my only friend and he knew about everything," Julie said.
"But I remember Blake writing emails to you brother Ace. A few emails I was the one who sent it as he couldn't use the technology. Didn't you read the emails?" Lexon asked in confusion.
Maya's eyes widen in shock as Lexon said that. "Emails? What emails?" Ace asked.
"Things Blake couldn't say to you or write in the letters, he sent them through emails. You two used to talk through emails."
Ace turned his head to look at Maya and Sawyer. "Why didn't I see any emails from Blake? Why was the email box empty?" he asked Maya.
When he woke up from the coma and took a break, Maya and Sawyer handled all his social accounts and business. Maya was the one who used to read and send emails.
Ace waited for Maya to speak up. Julie and Greyson looked at each other before standing. "We will wait outside," Greyson said holding Julie's hand.
Greyson left the room with Julie. Maya looked at them as they left the room after closing the door.
"Ace...." Maya took a deep breath as she looked at Ace.
"When you woke up from the coma and went through depression it was heartbreaking for us to see you like that. I... I decided that it would be better for you if you never go through the emails that Blake wrote you. I deleted all the emails that Blake sent you. I'm sorry but I was in a situation where your peace mattered to me than the emails," Maya explained.
Ace didn't say anything. He understood Maya's point of view. He looked at her while she looked back at him with a fearful expression.
Maya waited for Ace to say something or to yell at her for deleting the emails. She watched as Ace stood up from his seat and started wandering towards her.
Ace leaned down and hugged Maya taking her by surprise. "You don't have to be scared of me. I would never raise my voice on you. I know you thought of me, that's the reason you have done that," Ace spoke gently.
Lexon smiled looking at his brother Ace. He knew that the most understanding person is brother Ace.
"So you know about brother Ace before?" Greyson asked Julie.
"I don't exactly know him. I just knew him as Blake's best friend that's it. Before I could meet him, Blake passed away in that bomb blast. After that, you knew what happened. I came back home in the middle of the boot camp and rest is history."
"So you told Blake that I'm into gaming?"
"Hmm yeah. I don't remember when I told him but I surely told him about you and your madness towards the gaming world. He even asked about your ID. I shared your ID thinking you would gain a follower," Julie spoke looking at a Greyson.
So now Greyson understood what has happened and why Ace has selected him. Blake went through Greyson's gaming skills and matches before he suggested his name to Ace.
Greyson never met Blake but he is forever thankful and grateful to him. Blake has helped him a lot, without him Greyson would've never been at the place where he is now.
"Lexon..." Ace called.
"Yes, brother Ace?" Lexon said.
"Julie... Julie doesn't know anything about the book that Blake has written. It would be better for us if she doesn't know about the book. It would be awkward if she knows that she is the female protagonist of the book," Ace said.
"Hmm okay. I won't tell her about the book nor about her being the protagonist of the book," Lexon said.
For some reason knowing that Julie is Julia made Ace happy. He doesn't want to go close to Julie but at the same time, he is having a strong urge of knowing Julie.
If she is the way Blake has described her in his book. If she is shy and sensitive sometimes. "Lexon let's have a conversation in the morning," Ace said.
"Sure brother Ace," Lexon said.
"I will leave now. I need to take a rest," Ace said.
"Okay."
"Okay, have a good night," Maya said.
"Good night."
Ace started walking out, he looked at Julie and Greyson who are playing rock, paper, scissors. Julie stopped playing when she saw Ace.
"Hmm, I'm leaving. See you two later, good night," Ace said.
Julie wanted to ask him if he truly paints but she knew she can't ask him that in front of Greyson and that is not the time to ask.
"Good night," Greyson said.
"good night, drive safe," Julie said waving her hand.
Ace's gaze went to the shorthand before looking at her face. He nodded his head before leaving. He wants to turn around and look at Julie but he can't.
He shook his head and quicken his steps as he needs to drive somewhere far away to clear his mind.
