Maya tapped her finger on the table as she looked at Sawyer.
"Maya... Don't worry, the boys will understand if Ace doesn't attend the match. We will just say that it was way too crowded that's the reason Ace didn't attend the match," Sawyer said.
"Do you think they will buy this?" Maya said in a serious tone.
"I know... I know... But we don't have any option left. This is the only thing left, Ace is not going to step out of his room and what are we gonna tell them if not this?" Sawyer asked.
Sawyer shook his head as he looked at Maya. Greyson called them in the morning asking when Ace is going to come.
They didn't have an answer to tell Greyson. Greyson can join the dots easily and know the truth that Ace isn't feeling good.
Nor do they speak with Ace. Ace is not ready to talk with anyone.
Maya thought about it. "We will just say that Ace is sitting in the greenroom and watching the match. They will understand and there going to be a lot of people. The boys will surely understand," Sawyer added.
"Okay, we will call Greyson and tell him about Ace. He will talk with the boys," Maya said.
"That's a good idea. You call him and talk now," Sawyer said wandering towards the bed.
"Call from your phone," Maya said.
"Here," Sawyer said handing his phone to Maya.
Maya took the phone from Sawyer. She dialled Greyson's number.
Greyson crossed his arms, leaning back in his seat as he looked at the boys.
His phone started vibrating, he pulled it out from his hoodie pocket and answered the call.
"Hello," Greyson said.
"Hey, Greyson," Maya spoke keeping the call on speaker.
"Hello, Maya didi," Greyson said.
"You guys are ready?" Maya asked.
"Yes, we will be starting soon," Greyson said.
"Is brother Ace going to be there? We need to see him before the match begins," Greyson spoke.
Maya shared a look with Sawyer. "Greyson, we got to know that there are a lot of people who are going to be there as it's semifinals. Ace is not comfortable being there as they may recognise him," Maya started explaining.
Greyson stayed silent as he knows that there is some other reason that is stopping Ace from coming to the house. Maya and Sawyer are hiding something from them.
"Okay, Maya didi. So brother Ace won't be coming?" Greyson asked.
"He will be there but he will be sitting in the green room or somewhere hidden. He will be meeting you guys later if he is free," Maya said.
"Okay, when Sawyer and you will be here?" Greyson asked as Grant entered the room.
"We will meet you boys in the green room."
"Okay, see you two in an hour."
"Yup."
Maya ended the call and looked at the phone number.
"Greyson didn't believe in what I said. But thankfully he didn't question anything," Maya said looking at Sawyer.
"Hmm, I hope he explains the boys."
"I hope that too," Maya replied looking at the window.
They both stayed quiet for some time before Maya sighed and Sawyer stood up from his seat.
"We will leave now, we need to meet the boys too," Maya said
"Yup."
"Scared?" Zeke asked Carl wrapping his arm around Carl.
"Of course, I would be," Carl said.
"Don't be, you will do good," Zeke said.
"Yeah, but this nervousness, Zeke boy."
"Greyson and others will take care of you. Don't worry."
"Yeah..."
"Catch," Myles said throwing an apple at Daman.
"Yup," Daman replied catching the apple.
"Where is mine? I was the one who asked for an apple," Zeke said removing his arm from Carl.
"Huh? Did you ask for an apple? Not you?" Myles said looking at Daman.
"Nope, I didn't ask apple," Daman replied.
"But I want now," Daman said taking a bite of the apple.
"Sorry Zeke boy, go and get the apple from the basket," Myles said before wandering towards where Brooks stood.
"Come on Carl, let's go and get the apple," Zeke said turning and looking at Carl.
"Nah, you go and get. Ain't coming down," Carl replied.
"Fine, I will go and get one," Zeke said wandering towards the kitchen.
"Where is brother Ace? I didn't see him, when he is going to come?" Brooks asked.
"Don't know man," Kayden replied.
"Someone tried calling? I tried but it's coming as switched off," Logan said.
"Same, for me also it came as switched off," Daman said.
Greyson wandered into the room with Grant following him behind.
"Greyson and Grant, have you guys talked with brother Ace?" Kayden asked.
"Yeah, did any one of you spoke? We tried talking but it came as switched off," Daman said.
"Maya didi called me," Greyson said.
Everyone looked at Greyson. "What did Maya didi say? Did she say about brother Ace and when he is coming?" Logan asked.
"Brother Ace won't be able to meet us as there are going to be a lot of people. He is not comfortable with the crowds. He will watch us from afar and meet when he is done with his work," Greyson said.
The boys' shoulders slouched down in sadness and disappointment.
"Ugh, I want to meet and talk with brother Ace before the game. I miss him so much," Carl said.
"Same brother, I miss him too. I want to meet him before the game," Brooks said looking at Carl.
"Don't worry, we will meet brother Ace soon," Greyson said.
"Now don't spoil your moods. He wouldn't feel good hearing this, we need to take care of ourselves and our game," Greyson added.
The boys nodded their heads in understanding. "Okay."
"If everyone is ready, get into the bus one by one," Grant said checking his phone.
"We cannot be late, we need to leave in five minutes."
"Okay..."
"Yup."
"Yeah..."
"Hmm."
"Haan."
The boys picked their bags and started walking towards the entrance to get into the bus.
"Hold this," Zeke said giving his half-eaten apple to Logan.
"Zeke, where are you going?" Logan asked holding the apple.
"I need to pee," Zeke replied.
"What were you doing all the time?" Logan asked.
"At that, I didn't feel like peeing and now I feel like peeing."
"Shut up and come fast," Kayden said.
"And you... What are you asking brother? Let him go and pee," Kayden said to Logan.
"Don't take too much time," Myles said.
"Let me go and pee in peace!" Zeke yelled running towards where the common washroom is.
Greyson pulled his phone out to text his parents that he is starting.
They were waiting for him in the stadium with his sister.
"Where is Carl?" Grant asked when he didn't see Carl.
"He is on the bus," Logan replied.
"Rhett?"
"He is inside too."
"Good, who left?" Grant asked.
Greyson got inside the bus and went over to his seat that is in the end.
"Zeke boy," Logan replied.
"What he is doing inside when everyone is outside?" Grant questioned.
"He went to pee," Logan replied.
Grant shook his head, "you get inside. I will wait for him," Grant said.
"Yup." Logan stepped inside and wandered over to where Daman sat.
Zeke rushed out zipping his pants. He saw Grant standing outside the bus.
"I'm in," Zeke said getting into the bus.
"Yeah... Yeah..." Grant stepped inside.
"Take your seat, Zeke boy," Kayden said.
"Yeah." Zeke wandered over to where Carl sat.
"Did you zip your pants or not?" Rhett joked.
"Why don't you check by yourself?" Zeke replied standing from his seat.
"Eww, shut up and sit," Kayden said slapping Zeke's back.
"He asked me, I'm just showing," Zeke replied while others laughed.
Grant wandered over to where Greyson sat and he took his seat.
"Hahahaha," Rhett said.
The bus started moving. Greyson looked outside the window while Grant texted his friends from college that he is starting.
"Did your crush text you?" Carl asked Zeke.
"Nah, she is busy with her exams," Zeke replied in sadness.
"Still exams?" Daman asked.
Zeke turned his head. "Yeah, she has exams."
