I wake up before Lexi and just watch her sleep. She looks so beautiful and peaceful. I am in awe of how much she has grown as a person. That constant state of fear she was in is long gone.
She is a badass Luna now, and I am so proud. She is so strong, and after spending time with her mom, I see where she gets it from. We have a long road to go before it is safe for them to live freely, without the fear of being hunted. I want nothing more than to settle down and have a good life with her.
She stirs, and I bend down and kiss her lips softly. “Morning beautiful,” I say and she smiles and opens her eyes. “Morning yourself, handsome.” She says and snuggles into me. “It's time to get up. We are going to check for that thunder after breakfast.” I said and she jumped up.
