The Disappearance of an Island

1691 Words
Ten Keepers circled around Andrew as he prepared to fly. They were three meters away from the boy, and he quietly stands in the middle while Dah helps him prepare. “Are you comfortable?” Dah asked as he checked the armor that the young man was wearing. A lot of them were staring as the young man put on the leather like armor that Tahani specially made for him. Dah nervously zips up the latex-rubber like material, and he gulped hard when the young man was ready to go. “It is fine, Dah.” Andrew answered with a smile. “Tahani did a great job.” Tapping his feet against the floor, Andrew checked if the boots were comfortable and he was completely static when it's perfectly fitted.  "It's perfect, Tahani." He smiled brightly at her, earning a much contemptuous smile from the woman. Her blisters and boils were now tended and wrapped neatly with bandage derived and made from the tree barks coming from the forest. She sighed and prevented herself from getting too emotional. This is the pivotal moment everyone has been waiting for. She bites her lips and looks away when Andrew begins to summon fire. Timothy who was one of the people circled around Andrew. He stared at the young man. His heart was pounding erratically against his chest and his mouth was dry from all the nerves. He swallows and swallows but it isn't helping his case. "Kiddo." He called for Andrew. "Good luck..." Andrew nodded his head, he took the bag full of golden dust from Annalisse, the bag is made from the same material as his armor to prevent the ashes from burning. With a loud breath he concentrated and began to summon an even bigger fire. Sparks ignited from the tip of his fingertips, and with a flash it combusted brightly --- different and stronger from before. He screamed when the fire crawled up to his arms and traveled throughout his body. The Keepers around him gasped and some fell on the floor as the fire flickered then exploded. The latex-like material turned black and the carvings around it turned to white. Vine-like materials crawled up on his neck, down to his shoulders, thighs until the material connected with his gloves and boots. A tornado-like fire blasted up the sky as Andrew continuously screamed. His hair was on fire and his face was contorted and felt an immense amount of pain. "Andrew!" Dah screamed, and was about to rush to the young man when Andrew lifted his hands --- signalling for the Keeper to stop. "No!" He roared, and when he looked up his eyes were white and the veins on his face looked like lava was flowing instead of blood. "Don't come near me, I can do this!" In a matter of seconds his whole body turned red and fire spewed around. He went up blazing to the cyclone of fire. The remnants from the fire Andrew created remained in the forest, immediately the Keepers around spread into action and tried to kill it. But without avail, their efforts were useless, as they cannot extinguish the fire. However, when Viola, an expert when it comes to extraction, touched the fire out of curiosity --- she wasn't hurt or burned. But instead the fire faded when she touched it. "Don't touch it!" They heard a loud scream coming from the sky. It was Andrew, and he was flying and the suit he was wearing was colored red. His hair that was white turned blonde, from afar he looked like a lion. And instead of having a thick mane of hair, streams of long fire burst and ignite around him. "I will go now, please pray to Sagittarius for guidance!" =========================== Andrew flew and rocketed towards the island of Mindoro. From afar he looked like a shooting star in broad daylight. The trails of smoke he left behind faded as he flew faster until he can see the small island Timothy, Diomedes and Dah told him about. From a distance, the island was a mess. Trees, garbage and homes of hundreds of people were destroyed and some of the spots in the island were turned into ashes --- remnants where the vile creature had its full and feasted on the hundreds. What caught his attention the most is the semi-circle light that illuminated on the heart of the island. From his point of view, he can see the top of the fortress. There were Keepers trapped at the top, and some were standing in line of the long curtain wall and were all mouthing the same chants ---Keeping the barrier still. A lot of the Keepers were standing on the drawbridge, fighting against the monsters who tried to destroy the barrier. They threw the seeds from the forest of Zodiacs, and the vile beast was pushed away from the scene. But the bigger ones manage to stand firm, like the strong gust of winds similar to a tornado was nothing to them. Loud sounds that resemble the banging of a drum resounded around the area. A creature almost sixteen feet tall was kicking and thrashing against the barrier. Andrew breathed in deeply and crashed down on the forest. His landing destroyed the ground, leaving cracks and the pavements were destroyed. It didn't take long enough for the creatures to notice him. "Hey!" He screamed and called onto the beast, taunting them. "I am the inheritor of Leo's power. The master of the Fifth house, come and face me!" The creatures faced him --- opening their mouths and showed the burning fire, bones and teeth trapped inside their bodies. Hundreds of the creatures screamed and the sound they made was deafening and eerie --- sending chills to the spine to whomever hears it. The creature approaches the young man. And fearlessly, with his two hands, he created two massive balls of fire and threw it to the creatures. Two of the fireballs hit the creatures, and instantly as the ball touched their tar like skin --- they were killed by the strong blast. Bodies, skulls, blood and tar spewed everywhere, and the shock wave from the blast pushed and propelled the creatures away at a far distance. Embers of fire from the blast fell on the ground and some landed on the other creatures that were about six feet in height, the smaller ones. As the fire sinks on the tar Andrew closed his eyes and lifted his hand. His hands were balled into a fist, and when he released his fingers and opened his eyes --- the shade of white in his eyes turned bloody red. "Burn..." He whispered. And the creatures were engulfed by massive flames in a second. Their screams resounded on the island, as Andrew continued to throw massive balls of fire to the vile creatures. Continuous explosions and shock waves threw creatures off the radar. He touched one of the creatures and whispered "Explode in..." He flew away as he began to count "three... two... one!" The creature exploded, its remains contained hairs and teeth that were small. It feasted on children. That sight alone was enough to make Andrew's blood boil. "You nasty thing..." He looked at the creature in front of him and saw it trying to rebuild itself. "...how dare you. All those innocent children you feasted on. All those people, those families... the lives you took... you will pay the price!" The fire surrounding Andrew grew bigger and the orange fire was replaced by red and blue flame. He screamed on top of his lungs as his body stiffened and his muscles visibly contracted. "Leo!" He screamed. "Give me everything you've got!" The carvings on the armor Andrew was wearing turned gold. The streams of fire around him circled and began to form a tornado made of fire. Soon it formed into thousands of threads, strong and thick. It pierced every single creature, and the fire crawled fast against the thread and burnt every single creature out there. It was a fire that was never seen before. The heat was similar to a young star, a blue fire with no remains or trace of redness in it. The hottest stars tend to appear blue or blue-white, and the one coming from the young man was hot enough to create an explosion with just its ember. The creature screams and shrieks as it foams up, rising and evaporating fast. As it catches and burns against the blue fire, the life of the creature disintegrates and it becomes less viscous. Massive bodies of the tar creatures begin to run down, filling up the earth with its remnants. Bones, hair, teeth and wool from different animals and species burned along with the creatures. Andrew heaved, and his breath was labored. His eyes were getting blurry from the fatigue. His sweat was evaporating from the heat he was emitting. And his hands shake as he continues to kill the small creatures around him. The small ones aren't a problem, but then there's a gigantic one that remains and is standing still. It roared and was seemingly waiting for Andrew. The barrier behind the creature stood still, as most of the Keepers who fought off the small creatures stand inside the barrier and watch as the vile beast approaches Andrew. Every step that it took shook the earth, creating small earth shakes, and small rubles on the land bounced as the beast moved closer and closer to the tired young man. Andrew stood straight and prepared himself for the battle against the beast. "You will burn, just like the others." Andrew said slowly, he was still breathless. "And your death will send a message to your creator. You will not succeed in taking the Taurus relic... while I'm still here and standing, I will vanquish all creatures like you, and make sure you'll never rise on the face of the Earth, ever again." The creature roared, and the blood and tar from its mouth spewed on the land. It paces towards Andrew, and it hungers for the young man.
