The Venom's Legacy

1930 Words
Blood stains can be seen all around as the venom of the Celestial pierced through the heart of Connor. He had left cornered when only ten out of the forty Keepers remained alive --- some were barely making it through and were hoping to make it past dawn. Lazedi, Halley and Gandy were devoured by the eight foot monster, the terrifying creature had blood thirst in its eyes as it ate them one by one, using their smaller bones as a toothpick when it was done. Nothing in the books about the enemy's of the Celestial beings was written about these two creatures, and it absolutely petrified the remaining nine Keepers. For how could they defeat something they had no knowledge of? It would be like battling against a minefield. They will be all swept and killed if they act without planning ahead.  The creature's powers were absolute, and they don't show any signs of slowing down. There's absolutely no sign of weakness. The creatures did not even fear the venom of Scorpio. Only when it comes near them do they use Keeper's as a shield, killing their friend and colleague in the process. It was absolute cruelty. Tris, Lucas, Khallesie, Zayebi and four others remained. All of them were standing in the corner like a pack of scared rabbits. The wolf on sheep's clothing is walking towards them. On his right hand was an unconscious Elly. The man who they thought was a comrade was actually the enemy. No wonder the 'Phing' that they knew was acting strange. He wasn't the man they knew from the start since they were kids. The man in front of them was evil beyond comparison. The monster was holding onto Elly's collar, its long nails pierced through the armor that Tahani made. It looked at them with such hunger in its eyes that Tris heaved and vomited right on the spot. The creature smiled at them, showing its rows of teeth with remnants of blood. The blood of their friends --- their comrades. Its black tongue peaked out of its mouth and licked its lips. "Ah... what a sight to see. You all look absolutely mouth watering..." Lucas breathed out slowly. His eyes send daggers to the creatures. His eyes wandered everywhere trying to see if he could spot something that he could use as a weapon. He was the leader of this platoon. If he could use himself as a decoy and help his subordinates escape, then he would be willing to lay out his life. For what good it will be if they all die and the damned creatures took the venom as well. They must act now while the creatures are still feasting --- as cruel as it seems.  He elbowed Accashia on the side, making the Keeper look at him for a moment, fretting, before taking her sight back to the monster who was looking, staring at them. "What?" She said in a low voice, making sure that their conversation would be unheard. "What is it?" Lucas did not answer just yet, as it was staring at Scorpio's bane who was battling the eight foot monster. The eight foot beast was still using a dead Keeper's body to defend itself from the bane, three of the scorpions were trying to kill it. He had an idea of what he needed to do, he just did not know how it could be done. He bites his lips, and his breathing becomes labored and faster, taking sharper breaths that hurt his throat and lungs. As adrenaline rushes through his bloodstream, making his heartbeat faster and suddenly he's much aware of his surroundings. He is the tallest one among all Keepers inside this chamber. His height may help him reach that big monster faster, but his height can also be at disadvantage, since his range is long and it'll be easier for one of those beasts to catch him. "I have a plan." He said as his eyes looked at Accashia through his peripheral vision. "But it's dangerous..." He added. "...it may kill us both." Was his intense warning. Accashia chuckled as he stared at the devilish creature in front of her. Its rows of teeth and its skin so dark and shriveled up that it looks like a decaying mummy. The monster even had a smile on its face, and she thought it was taunting them, and it was intelligent. "All of us will die here tonight if we don't make a move." Was Accashia's saractic laced reply. "Now tell me about this plan of yours." Lucas nodded his head in agreement. "I think they're waiting for sunrise, when the bane has settled and crawled back to the relic." He sighed and then his hands balled into a fist. How could any of them not notice that there was a spy in their midst. How stupid. How ignorant were they? Upon seeing Phing's face, they did not dare to question his sudden change of character. Only Elly --- his best friend noticed, but it was too late. "That thing now knows about the secret of the relic." He deadpanned. "It listened to the stories relayed by the scholars... I've seen him listening and asking questions to the scholars many times. The old Phing dreaded coming to those lectures, as it was told to us as children. Now that one absorbs every information and legend like a sponge... it knows the bane calms down at dawn." Khallesie groaned as she listened to Accashia and Lucas' conversation. "They will steal the relic?" She said it a little too loud that Golind --- the vile creature heard it. Lucas and Accashia tried to hush her, but it was too late. For Golind, the creature and the wolf in sheep's clothing were already laughing at the obvious. "Bravo!" It said after it calmed down from its laughter. "Way to state the obvious, Khallesie.." Khallesie's eyes widened and she gulped against her drying throat. She felt her skin crawl, as if millions of tiny creatures were walking and stinging her skin. "Yo---you know my name?" She said so innocently that the creature let out a series of loud bolstering laughter. Golind's laughter was so loud that it sounded like nails on a chalkboard against their ears, and it feels like their ears will begin to bleed anytime soon. "Of course, I know your names!" He said with sheer confidence, and was proud of that fact. "I was Phing, you idiots! You are all so thick in the head that you didn't even notice me. Golind, I am Golind. The third creation of Emir, the Creator!" Upon hearing the name of her Creator, Sphinox growled and her body began to expand, growing and the already bulked muscles on her body thickened. She looked like a terrible beast. "Golind!" She screamed, and her voice was hoarse and terrifying as three different tones of voices came out of her mouth. "How dare you speak of the Creator's name for your recognition! You vile thing!" The Keepers went into shock. Not only because the creature, which is eight feet tall, can talk or how her body grew and she became taller, but now they learned the Undying man's name. Which is Emir. The name that had been unknown for thousands and hundreds of years had been revealed. Not even the Celestials know of his name. Not even the scholars who spent their entire lives studying the past can dig into this. They have been left stupefied by the Undying man's past and secret. Now, they have a single clue. And this is a treasure. Now that these Keepers heard the name of Emir it ignited something strong inside them. A will to fight. A will to live. Their sense of purpose ignited, like the fire of Sagittarius touched their souls. They have to live and tell the association about this new information. They just have to. There's a need to, because this will surely be a breakthrough. Lucas immediately stood up and ran sideways when he spotted a shield just right beside the broken gates. He screamed for the others "Go, go, go, go, go! NOW!" Khallesie bit her tongue to wake up her senses. She jumped in front of the creature named Golind and latched herself into him ---sacrificing her life so that the others may spread into action. She shoved her hand into his wide mouth and forced her limbs, until it was deep on his throat. "Eat this, you terrible thing!" She screamed loudly, eyes wide and was bloodshot red. She fought through the pain until her whole arm was pushed inside Golind's mouth, her shoulder almost touching his face. Golind growled, his left hand letting go of Elly --- only to grab a hold of Khallesie's waist for him to grip onto and bite off her arm. "Ah!" She screamed and cried. Her blood splattering everywhere, gushing against Golind's face and Elly's body. "f**k you, you vile thing!" Was the last thing Khallesie said before Golind's mouth widened, while his head was stretching until his mouth was as wide as a ball. Then he bites of Khallesie's head. He takes a bite of her shoulders then her torso, the bones cracking and the sound of slurping and chewing resounded in the chamber. Lucas threw the shield at Tris and the others. As Golind chewed on Khallesie's foot, he looked around and saw how the Keepers began to move fast, each running around like a bunch of wounded rats. "Who knew stupid would taste so good." He said before licking the last drop of Khallesie's blood from his face, hands and fingers. He looked particularly at Accashia who was running towards the relic. "Let's see if a smart person tastes good as well." He said with a crooked smile before jumping in front of Accashia. "Do you know how long I've been holding out to my cravings to devour all of you?" "Don't think it'll be that easy." Golind taunted with a smirk. He was about to grab onto Accashia, until he felt a sharp pain against his torso and back, then his head. He felt like his body was pushed away when numbers of shields were thrown on his way. His body landed on the ground, rolling ungracefully against the cold stone floor. "Golind!" Sphinox screamed, she can't make a move or else the venom may touch her and end up killing her. She picked up another dead body from the floor. The scorpions and the bane was getting aggressive. Now the telsons of the three scorpions were turning into gold. Streams of its deadly poison were almost dripping at the tip of the needle. One touch, even a prick of this can kill even Emir, the Creator. "Stop playing around, you imbecile! Finish them off! Finish them off, now!" Golind grumbled under his breath as he stood up, almost too quickly for anyone to see. He's now using most of his power, using his full speed. He is the third creation of the Creator. The fastest one, and now the strongest... for he can also absorb and mimic a person's attributes. He will no longer be laughed at and bullied by the first creation --- Atlas and the second one --- Sphinox. "Shut up, Sphinox!" He growled. "Watch me devour these disgusting mice and pick off their flesh from my teeth with their own bones!" Golind prepared himself as he eyed and stared at Lucas. "You're going to be my fourth meal for the night."
