- Finn’s POV -

It has been a busy week preparing for the Initiation ceremony. I was excited to become the new Alpha of our pack but also conflicted about Kayla. If I accept her as my mate and Luna, it was supposed to make me stronger and also bring blessings to our pack. But I couldn’t get past the fact that she was mute and wolfless. How could she be my equal and lead the pack with me?

Unable to make up my mind and afraid that my wolf would refused to show up at my Initiation ceremony if I rejected Kayla, I grabbed the car keys and decided to go for a drive before the ceremony starts in the evening. It was the next best alternative to a run.

As I walked closer to the garage, Kayla’s scent became more intense. I shook my head in disbelief and thought I must be going insane.

- Kayla’s POV -

Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to think of how I could get away from Nate. I should never have tried to go down the stairs on my own in the afternoon when there was no one at the pack house. Nate must have realized that and came to look for me. Before I could react, he had dragged me by the hair down the stairs and to the garage.

“What are you going to do? Scream? Run? Fight me?” Nate roared in laughter before snarling, “You’re mute and wolfless and now you’re crippled too! You think that your brother is back and we’d be afraid of you? You’re just a disgrace to the pack and no one cares what we do with you. Besides, you don’t want those precious photos of our wonderful time together to become public, do you?”

My head hurt and my ankle was throbbing. My waist was burning from being dragged down the stairs. But I knew there was no time to be afraid or feel pity for myself. I need to try and save myself! I’m special, I reminded myself! I look desperately around me for something that I could use to defend myself and from the corner of my eye, I could see a wrench not too far from my right side. If I could just lunge to the right, I’d be able to grab it. But I needed to wait for the right moment, for him to be off his guard.

Suddenly, Nate gripped my shoulders and pushed me from a sitting position to lie on the ground. Before I could react, he threw his body weight on me and I couldn’t move. Fear and panic rose in me and I could feel my stomach flip flopping, threatening to throw up. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to gather up my courage.

Something wet and warm engulfed my lips. I opened my eyes and to my horror, Nate was biting my lips and trying to force my mouth open with his tongue. He grabbed my wrists and pinned them above my head as his other hand groped my breast roughly. I could hardly breathe with his body weight on me and the smell of him so close to me was making me feel more and more sick. I felt him forcing my knees apart as he moved himself between my legs and then something hard started to hit against my lady parts. My mind went blank and I snapped back into reality as something sharp dug into my breast.

The garage door swung opened and I thought that I was saved. To my horror, Finn looked at us in disgust and shouted at us to do our filthy business elsewhere. I felt humiliated and wronged but also relieved as Nate finally got off me and left. I tried to get up but before I could, Finn slammed the garage door shut and wrapped his fingers around my neck. His eyes were glowing and the Alpha aura that he was giving off frightened me. His grip on my neck tightened and I struggled to pry his fingers away, pleading with my eyes to let me go.

Just as I thought I couldn’t breathe anymore, he relaxed his grip and hissed at me with disgust in his voice, “To think that I was breaking my head over whether to accept you as my mate and trying to hard to overlook your weaknesses and this is how you repay me? What a fool I was to think that declaring my Luna on my Initiation ceremony would be a blessing for the pack. You’re nothing but a cursed, mute and wolfless w***e who would open her legs for any wolf anywhere. I, Finn Ridgeton, reject you, Kayla Forster, as my mate!”
