Indigo I clamber into the back of the SUV with Salem begrudgingly. I notice her frequent glances in the direction of Crew, and when I see him adjusting the rearview mirror to get a better look at her, my heart drops like a rock. The thought of ‘fated mates’ drags me down an emotional rabbit hole as memories flood my mind of what I left behind. The clingy part of me notices none of them have bothered to contact me since leaving, no calls, and no texts-anger rises within like smoke from a vengeful fire. Asa’s silence was deafening.
