Axle's POV
We broke apart like lightning had cracked between us, sudden and brutal, she had shoved me… leaving the air too thick to breathe. My right hand flew to my lips, trembling now… the other grasped onto my car keys like some fool clinging to a cliff edge. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, lips parted as she muttered something I couldn't hear, her face flushed, and those lips… they were swollen, soft, and temptingly kissed.
And I had done that.
I had kissed her.
No… I'd devoured her like a man starved.
The panic kicked in fast, faster than I could prepare for. Like cold water thrown over burning skin, shock scalded every corner of my mind.
